Courage for Change?

I was reading a story by Edward Cheah on a poll that ran on Ong Tee Keat's website for some ten months from August 27, 2008 through June 12, 2009.

Should MCA leave BN? Here's the screenshot of the poll results:

Of the 2,923 poll opinions received, it means 3 out of 4 respondents want MCA to pull out of BN.

Najib was asked for his opinion of the poll results. The BN chief believed MCA won't pull out.

Four ministers, nine deputies, several more state excos and municipal councillors are at stake as ampun kurnia for being "a senior partner in the BN".

Courage for change? It's academic, Najib says.

"..but the political position of MCA is to be a senior partner in the BN." (Najib)

You would think after so many years that MCA is already a senior partner in the BN.

That the head of Umno comes out to say otherwise not only says Mahathir was talking nonsense when he said BN worked by consensus of its component parties, it also says Umno has its thumbs on the MCA and the others.

So it also admits the failure of the BN model. Simply because BN in federal is still Umno in all national policies.

Only when the MCA withdraws from BN will Umno wake up that days of bluff and huff are long over.

And if that's going to push Umno into a corner with PAS, so be it.

If that thought is unthinkable to Umno, they should stop their nonsense and come to grips that this country is more than just about the Malays.

INTERNET does not operate in a legal vacuum.
