The start of the end... ( 4 )
Heard of shifting furniture on the Titanic? Here's the Made-in-Malaysia version.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Najib Abdul Razak today swapped their ministry portfolios -- Abdullah is now the new Defence Minister while Najib takes the Finance Minister post.
I won't disagree if you say both had screwed up their respective ministries before the swap -- finance and defence -- and the same screw-up may carry over to their new ministries.
Sorry, they shifted furniture on the Titanic but the ship sank still.
BY THE WAY... The KLCI on Bursa Malaysia inched closer to the 1000-point psychological barrier today.
Soon after Abdullah announced the shifting of furniture on the Titanic (the swapping of portfolios between the No. 1 and No. 2), the KLCI took a plunge of 7.83 points to 1004.54 points at 3.00pm before closing lower at 1002.99 points by the end of transaction day.
The composite index once dropped to 1000.43 points before the strengthening at the Sime Darby counter narrowed the plunging band.
BY THE WAY... For now, in the Parliament of 222 MPs, it's BN 138 vs. non-BN 84 (PR 81, Independent 3).
