Quote of the Day
I am not sure if he is trying to hang himself but this is from RPK:
“This time I am going for broke. This time I am prepared to go to jail for a long, long time just to make sure that Najib is not going to become Prime Minister of Malaysia in June 2010.
This time, I am going for broke. Yes, I know I am headed for a fall, but I am going to bring Najib down with me."
Apparently, according to Malaysian Insider and Rocky's Bru, RPK wrote in his blog yesterday that he had made a video recording of a “confession” from a man who claimed to be present when DPM Najib Razak allegedly met a former volunteer in Anwar Ibrahim's office "to discuss how to 'fix' Anwar on the sodomy allegation"..
Assuming Najib is fixing Anwar, and RPK is to fix Najib... so, who is to fix this country?

Face it, if the leadership's not fixed, this country won't get fixed. If we screw it up, this country's 'fixed' for sure. And our future's screwed as well.

I'm not sure this is how I want my next PM to be installed. Still, very brave man.

The PEOPLE are suppose to help fix the country.
But most Malaysia surrender the responsibilities to federal government many years ago.

There is a growing group of the rakyat who are pushing zero tolerance. But the govt of today continues chugging along the track of zero intolerance. They tolerate themselves. That's why you have double-standards, like the double-tracks of the railway.
One thing you can be sure. They can't think in more than one dimension. That's why the PM's dentist can talk about malay unity when his boss et al had mouthed malaysian unity. Sharp one, LKS. The former wanted malay votes to knock out PKR. The latter wanted non-malay votes to knock out PKR. Their one-tracked mind was just about knocking out PKR, not about what is right or wrong for the rakyat.
So many months after the last elections, BN has shown nothing that says it understands the hard, hot and heavy issues of the rakyat on governance. The other component parties are virtually non-existent. They have no presence. They might as well collapse into PKR. However that may precipitate PAS to pact with Umno and so the kinetics of today's political equilibrium will be spliced down the centre to divide this nation into two: malays and non-malays. Then the ultras will rule the day and it will be a political tussle that will spill into economics, social matters etc. The fabric of the original vision of a united Malaysia will be torn apart.
That is why things must be taken a step at a time before it builds up to that. Get the do-it-right principle right first. And the first priority is to establish the credibility of the transition. This itself has two divergencies. One, the Umno elections that's coming up, on which principle there is no fixed prior settlement of who is to hold what post. Two, the credibility of the person who has already been 'handpicked' by the incumbent.
When you look at it, the two divergencies actually converge on the revelations of RPK. If what he says is true, not only justice but the future of this nation will be affected. That's why the altantuya case must be resolved to the highest level of justice and integrity.
If justice is not done, you can use your mouse to drag the icon 'ketuanan melayu' to the folder called Trash, then right-mouse-click and select Empty.
Not that there was any ketuanan of any race in the first place.
Once this do-it-right principle is re-established, the second thing is to look at how a govt can be reorganized in this country not only to take care of immediate but also future issues. The way we have been doing it may need to be tweaked. Federal, state, district etc. and then there's ministers, MPs, career civil servants, sir humphreys etc. Look at their psychological and talent profiles. A lot of things are missing which should be present so that, for instance, we don't lament we have lost a small rock when actually zum teufel! it was a whole gobsmacked economic zone they were after. Et cetera et cetera. (Yul Brunner in King of Siam). But then again, if we can lose millions because the sports ministry doesn't even do due diligence on its consultant, what can we expect from the camel traders of putrajaya?
Sit back, have a cuppa, light a ciggie, take five with an inul gyration but after that get the minds focused back to a laser point on how to overcome ourselves so that the right-things get done.
Don't care? Oblivion beckons. And this is no drama. Everyone already feels it.
