Jeff Sparrow Ver3.01

Finally, long over due, I had my left eye operated yesterday. I decided to go back to the same ophthalmologist, Dr Azhar Zainudin of Tun Hussein Onn Eye Hospital, to finish it off once and for all. I have great confidence in him and his team.

I had the right eye done on December 17 last year. A mishap happened after the stitches were removed one month later, and I am still bearing the aftermath though recovery is steadily slow. To make it worse, preparation for the Penang Campaign during GE2008, and subsequently the immense workload after capturing the state, had delayed the second-eye operation for some time. Due to jarring difference in myopia, I have had the inconvenience of wearing a single contact contact lens for the last seven months.

This time, it was done using laser, hence less traumatic. However, due to the swollen cornea, I have still yet to reclaim full vision, and today's eye test was very bad, 6/60.

So, it will be quite a while before I could view the entire micro-surgery procedure that was captured on video.

For now, I can't read, can't drive, and have to strain the other eye to put up this blog. Listen to lots of cable TV though as I can't see much..

This is Jeff Sparrow, Ver1.0, Ver2.0, and Ver3.0. Touch wood, no more sequel.

Jeff Sparrow Ver1.0... December 17, 2007, Tun Hussein Onn Eye Hospital.

Take care of your eyes. They are the window to your soul. I am just seeking a second chance to remedy the early onsetting of cataract, thanks to modern technology.

wish you fast recovering Jeff!

You mean there are way too many things to see after that election... that you ended up doing the surgery this late??? :P

JEFF OOI says: The schedule during the first 100 days and the Parliament sessions that followed soon after just didn't permit the eye op as I must maintain optimal health before entering the OT.

get well soon... :)

get well soon. Our eyes are indeed precious and a treasure.

YB... take good care of your eyes so that you can see what is going on out there. But make sure they are fully recovered. I watched the PG State Assembly and hope that there will be more actions and less fight. BN still seemed sore from 080308. Hope they too will have good vision and be able to see things as they truly are. Since you are not in the State Assembly, hope you are able to help the other PR YBs to see better and strategize instead of getting themselves Taint by BN comments... We have seen enough of Parliament fights. Penang State YBs must show a good example to those Parliamentarians.

"Let them say what they want to say" -- an unsent letter goes back to the owner. The Silent Penangnites watched with their eyes and ears open but mouth shut. They will take the necessary actions when appropriate. We know it is difficult to swim 'upstream'... don't lose sight of PR's goal and keep your ears shut of polluted words...

Yup, don't over-strained your eyes and eat more carrots. Hahaha. I guess YB can't sleep well in the ward room because the bed is not as comfortable as the one at home lol and I don't think YB will be lonely because you will have lots of guests. Surely, this is a good time to rest, sleep and feel being pampered by your love ones. Hope to see you in good shape and have vision 2020. Cheers.

Dear YB,

Hope you get well soon. Your sight is important not only for you but for us too.......

PR need to show more unity among PR members. "Non uniform" uniform worn by DAP ADUNs doesn't project strentgh but shows disunity. Nothing wrong in wearing ceremonial attire. Furthermore, the suit worn doesn't reflect any of our culture nor tradition.

Anyhow, this "non uniform" issue will not change people's support to PR but it won't be guaranteed if such "disunity" and "disregard is exercised very often.

Please take care (your eyes and) Penang, you all are being examined and monitored under microscope every second.

Thanks,
SubraYoga

Get well soon YB Jeff

Dear YB Jeff,

Good to hear from you again.

"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going".

Have a good rest especially the eyes & get well soon.

Cheers & take care.

Hi Jeff.... I am supposed to have my right eye done three months ago! Finally getting the op late August. At the moment I have to use my left eye for the view-finder! They say a photographer do not retire by riding into the sunset, they go OUT OF FOCUS! Ha ha ha! Get well soon!!

Hmm... you look like you've lost some weight. Parliament must be taking its toll on your body. :) Keep up the good work.

May you recover soon. Oh ya, please stay away from tyour pc for the time being. :-)
