Abdullah admits scenario of 'political instability'

Finally, at last, akhirnya, PM Abdullah Badawi admits the present administration of his is not stable, and he vows to restore it, without details. Quote:

Abdullah, who is also Finance Minister, said political stability would soon be restored.

“It will stabilise. If we work hard, soon it will stabilise. [...]

Abdullah, who has had calls for him to step down following the poor showing of the Barisan Nasional in the recent general election, said he was ready to take action to stamp out political instability but declined to say what he might do.

“If we think it’s necessary, at the right time, why not?” Abdullah said, when asked if he was prepared to crack the whip.

“It will be irresponsible not to use that,” he said.

Abdullah spoke all those in the context of his perspective of the new media -- blogs, YouTube, SMS etc -- as being treacherous. But Che Det thinks otherwise. Read his Gula-gula.

If he calls in the troops, skulls will be cracked, blood spilled, lives taken and investments excised. All without achieving anything, for people will see the move as nothing but a ruse to hide something else which must be resolved first.

Like the gambler on a losing streak overturning in anger the table and then calling for his bodyguards to elbow the other players, it will be seen as a cunning escape hatched to deflect attention by banging innocents with a mugabian iron fist.

And if he issues another operation lallang, people will remember him for trying to repeat what his predecessor had done, the same ex-PM who now thinks his administration vile beyond contempt.

But more importantly if he continues not to address the matters of the Lingam case, the Sodomy case, the Altantuya case, the AG-IGP case, the Project-IC case, the Sabah/Sarawak development case, and the Petronas, IPP, Toll Concessions, APs, NEP, islamc state, vernacular education and religions, non-bumi scholarships etc cases, then not just the rakyat, but the whole world will see him as weak and ineffective overreaching the wild lashings of a bully.

That is why those who are too quick to say they are fed-up with the situation must also be aware they should not play into the hands of those behind him who have been in the past quick to seize opportunities to try and turn the tide to their own advantage. Remember, they have made mistakes in judging how reactions would be before GE12 so why would leopards be right before GE13? Wouldn't these be the same people who had also hurried the sudden spike in fuel prices without touching the grounds on how that would create devastating multiplier effects on the majority of households throughout the country, families who were already under tremendous casflow strains to yet hear another call for them to change their inimitable lifestyles?

If a lewinski would fit into the sodomy case, who would fit into the altantuya case? It is hard to find a parallel but it is easy to find the answer by a parallel question: would one ex-CM rise again even if discharged? How would he look in front of a mike before millions?

A tough lack of choices.

He has one big problem of legacy. Having promised to transit out, he now finds that the next occupant is no longer seen in the same light as how he himself was seen in GE11.

He has another problem. The reason for abolishing the subsidy was to reduce the federal deficit and maintain sovereign rating. Now that fires are breaking up all over the place from inflation, the funds so saved from cancelling subsidies are in turn used to even greater extent to mitigate their very negative effects, in turn adding 'fuel' (no pun intended) to the fires started. When inflation goes up, what happens to interest rates and sovereign ratings?

But the biggest problem he has is this: no one trusts one word of his administration anymore. So what if it's five percent growth rate today? Will that mean the average urban poor will see five ringgit more in their hands tomorrow? At the rate things are tapering down these days, they may not even have jobs tomorrow.

When there is mistrust, it is very hard to earn it back. Unhelpful would be statements made that a crowd of only 10,000 showed failure. That is a spiteful denial. As Einstein had once said, "were i wrong, one objector would have been enough.'

Right is right, and wrong is wrong. It's no point admitting to political instability as an excuse for a self-serving, pro-administration clampdown. That's running away from the problem by continuing to deny the real solution to the root of the problem. It's like changing the term 'money politics' to 'corrupt politics'. No amount of Daia (downgraded from Breeze) can clean off the dirt. You need to chlorinate off the stains, even if that will burn a hole through the cloth.

He's got to stand up and say all those cases will be efficiently solved with fullest integrity, transparency and accountability - even if it will cause Umno to change. And without diminishing their resolution by the principle of true justice, he's got to run quickly as well on the other imperative to find new growth engines for the rakyat and the industries. That itself may call into the need to transform not just Umno and the others, but also Malaysia as a nation.

And if he wants to be forceful, be forceful on those who continue to show the juvenile bravura of ketuanan over others, including that UM malay student leader who exhorted his members to claim their rights over the 'pendatangs'.

Trying to hint this and that, saying maybe if right why not, these are words in need of energy that should not even be directed against the rakyat. All of them should directed at himself and his administration. He can start with his deputy. the AG and the IGP.

And make that transparent for all to see.

This is stating the obvious. But more importantly, he must also work smart, not just hard. Working smart is missing now from the look of things and the mess we are in.

What is he talking about instability ?
The current situation calls for quick transparent actions on all the many cases and issues which has happened because of AB's inaction !
Instability will get worse unless he DOES the correct thing (forgive the unintended pun) !
Instability is caused by the rising prices ,poor leadership, scandals ,and the rakyats' frustration with his administration at large !!!
Geez ! He is the cause of the instability ,doesn't he know it by now !
Get off your back and work and if it means scarifising a few of your own so be it. Covering a fire with more paper won't cut it anymore the rakyat has matured enough to know all this poor excuses that you call strategies !!
Malaysia deserves better !!

Zorro said AAB may be awake now, but not yet leave the bed! Hahaha...

PM FORGETS EASILY

The Honorable PM of Malaysia has come out of his silent reflections over the weekend and made some statements in the media this day Monday of July 7, about truth, lies and perceptions.

Perhaps the PM in his grave lamentations also forgot the wise words of Jacques Prevert the French Poet: When truth is no longer free, freedom is no longer real.

Mr. PM you forget that Malaysia is one country in the world with many records to boot. And unfortuantely all of these demand serious damage control.

We have the world's tallest 'twin' towers yet the lowest morals. We gun each other down with tales of butt poking. Which other Islam-Hadhari country in the world does likewise Sir? Answer of course is none.

We have a spanking airport that is a world icon, yet we cannot end the 'ulat' scourge let alone make it free from armed shoot-outs.

Don't incidents like these strengthen one's perception?

We are the only ONE nation in the world that lugs a king-sized mattress to court merely to politically kill a contender. I cannot think of any nation in the world that does likewise - not even when Clinton pinched a girl's butt in Office.

We say that loansharks will be dealt with severely but the next year we approve licenses for them to operate nationwide.

We say austerity drive, but our Yang Berhormats continue their holidays and shopping sprees in Paris and London. When was the alst time you visited your Cabinet Minsiters' homes Sir? Don't their furnitures, decors, curtains, carpets, collections and jewellery tell tales of overseas buying?

Come on Mr Prime Minister, was it not you who appointed the band of cabinet ministers? Should you not then be telling your men and women to walk the talk and talk the walk? Why are you again blaming the rakyat and the bloggers?

Why are you also blaming the 'opposition' parties that rule the five states? Why are you cutting back on projects in these states that are now managed by the 'opposition' members? Why are you not accepting the rakyat's decision at the 12th GE? Why are you then not leading the nation with exemplary leadership of collaboration? Why? Why? Why?

There are in fact even more whys.

Why is it that immigration records can just vanish into thin air?

Why is it only in 'Malaysia Truly Asia' foreigners can be C4-ed and justice takes ages to be served?

Suppose a Malaysian professional was C-4ed in Mongolia, what would you do sir as the PM of the people, for the people and by the people?

Why is it so difficult to resolve the Lingam-gate in honest time and move on?

Why is it that you send a space tourist into orbit but proclaim without batting an eye that we have a Malaysian astronaut?

After all Mr PM do not forget too that at one time you left the very party and government to be on the other side of the fence. So do we say you were then a traitor?

I have a suggestion. Why don't you imprison all the 'opposition' members, the 'bad' bloggers and all the rakyat who are in favor of the 'opposition' parties? That way you will have no problems with your allegation of there being too much lies, untruths, perceptions, and what have you.

If this country fails, you have to be the first person to take all the blame because you opted to be our leader. That is what leadership is all about Sir. No?!?

So you see Sir, therein lies the dilemma that you are crying over. The answer is as the ancient wisdom says: A leader must search the shadow in his own eyes before pointing at the wilderness that the humble rakyat walk in daily.
