Journalists cordoned off, in Parliament

Rocky's Bru and The Star are factually accurate, and I saw the mess with my own eyes.

Just as both have reported, he Press have been barred from the Parliament lobby effective 10am today. They are being held behind a cordon at the far end of the lobby, confining 100 members of the Press to operate in a small corner.

Speaking to some of the journalists, I was told they are restricted from moving freely in the Parliament lobby and only have access to the cafeteria, the press conference corner and the Speaker's office.

The rationale for such a measure, according to official-speak, is security.

Last Friday, the Parliament administration issued a notice to all media informing them that they could only send up to five journalists per media organisation to cover the ongoing session. The rationale cited was also due to security consideration.

(I wonder if the Authority regards the Press Corp as potential suicide bombers?)

The Press are being treated like refugees behind a cordon. This is our Parliament today.

I believe they should now report what goes on in the Parliament chamber, and ignore all ministers who hold standing press conferences at the lobby.
