Into the Hansard?

The MP for Gombok just introduced Anwar Ibrahim, in his impromptu speech in the Parliament, as 'bakal Perdana Menteri Malaysia' (Malaysia's Prime Minister in waiting) when he stood up to speak on Abdullah Badawi's political rhetorics in fighting corruption.

This was in response to MP from Pasir Salak who said he was 'sacked' from Umno by Anwar for unexplained reasons. The moods in the House turned into something that resembled an Umno general assembly.

Pasir Salak also challenged Gombak to repeat his allegations about him outside the Parliament and he (the former) will sue.

Jeff, Gombak? Pasir Salak? Who are they? I would prefer that you name the persons rather than their constituencies. We, the ordinary folks outside parliament, wouldn't know whom you are referring to. Regards....

Wow...

Shall we give Pasir Salak some sympathy? hmmmm~~

and did speaker say MPs should not discuss about perkara remeh???

Interesting...~~

Re SS Quah:

Awww... A google will help ya... or just check in the parlimen website-lah...

Pasir Salak = Y.B. Dato' Haji Tajuddin bin Abdul Rahman (UMNO)

Gombak = Y.B. Tuan Mohamed Azmin bin Ali (PKR - Party Whip)

and fyi, MPs are not suppose to name their colleague in the dewan rakyat... (Actually speaker should not as well, not sure why our speaker did name them)... i guess Jeff is trying to get use to constituency naming~~

As an elected MP you're known by your constinuency
With your personal name losing its public frequency
Remember that you're still paid by the people's taxed currency
Even though you're there to make all the needed policy

Hi, BenToh, yes, I know Jeff is trying to get used to calling his fellow MPs by their constituency names, like what happens in Parliament. But like I said earlier, we - the ordinary folks outside parliament - don't know whom he was referring to. Too much of a hassle having to check the parlimen website. But thanks, anyway.

Assuming democracy is working and practiced at each level. They, individual MPs, is there representing, voicing for their individual constituency. "Who" is voicing should become secondary.

Judging from the some of the speeches, who they represent is rather obvious to all.

We still have a long way towards achieving a mature, democratic parliament.
