Dr M jumps ship?
UPDATED VERSION. Little Birds say Dr M will quit Umno today.
Is that true? Will the exodus start and a new New Umno begin? Who are the new Unhappy in Umno?
Incidentally, today is also Wesak Day, the Buddhists' Day for Enlightenment.
UPDATES: The Star confirmed the story. Dr Mahathir announced in his home state of Kedah that he has quit Umno, and he urged other party members to quit too, as a way of pressuring Abdullah into vacating his post. However, he advised those who do quit not to join any opposition party, so that they can all rejoin Umno once Abdullah is removed.
Read what his son, Mokhzani, was quoted as saying in Malaysian Insider.
In an immediate response to the breaking news, Musa Hitam's protege Shahrir Samad advised people to "prepare for another general election".
MORE UPDATES: Sanusi Junid has also quit Umno (Read his son's early observation of the changing scenarios). Who else?
UPDATES: Roundup in The Star.

There is no peace in this man. A person who dare defy him during his reign were ousted in a shameful manner, including the previous menteri besar of selangor who opposed federal annexation of putrajaya, was forced to resign due to sis-in-law. scandal. He spread hatred and is full of venom.

Dear Jeff Ooi,
Should there be any re- general election? DAP must reposition itself with candidates from various racies especially those from the malays? Start by releasing safe seats (although I knew no such things exist) such as Tanjong and Seputeh to other races including the malays. Of course, not Beruas and Taiping (newly won). Create a truly diverse candidates from various races. Negotiate hard with PKR and PAS for mixed seats or even malay majority setas. Else, should there be a crossover from other parties? Assess them well.

Is this suppose to be good news or bad news?
I think the time is about right for DSAI's takeover plan before things get way out of hand.

Hmmm.. looks like Dr. M is facing a new DILEMMA. Can't tell his followers to quit UMNO and join the other parties as it would effectively mean joining PKR and come under the leadership of Annuar Ibrahim. So they have to become independents until the leadership in UMNO is changed.
He has been challenged by Karpal Singh to review the names of the Judges who have seek favours from him. No doubt this will upset many people in UMNO if the names are reviewed. I hope he remember that when he start naming names, he better have solid proof, otherwise they may be deemed irrelevant by the Judge(s) hearing the case.
For someone who suffered from amnesia during the recent hearing, can he now claim that he has photographic memory?
Once the order is given for the probe related to the Lingam tapes, all his files can be seized from his offices and homes. Wow, that would be very interesting, if only the power that be will review what's in them to the public.
So, what to do? Try a preemptive strike. We will see in the next 24 hours who his friends and supporters are. Like Datuk Shahrir said, we are waiting for his son to follow suit!
For someone who was both the President and Treasure of UMNO at the same time, it must be extremely hard to quit UMNO.

I sure do hope that Tun M knows what he is doing. This will be the catalyst for the 'movement' of party members from UMNO. Also, to a certain extent, I feel that Dr. M's resignation from the party could trigger a 'revolution' for the party to revamp itself.
PS: I just wonder HOW the little birds manage to get hold on those juicy infos inside?

Dear Jeff,
I personally respect Tun Mahathir”s decision & congratulate him on his Wisdom.
He is doing us a favour...a Big one for us !
For as long as PM & his “Ketetuanan Melayu” UMNOputras are in self denial , still on their BLIND self destruct trajectory… then it is definitely the Final Curtain & check-mate for BN !
The reduced strength of the remnant UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc including the good BN members, cannot champion their party’s cause to the rayaat. They are intimidated to sing the same BN tune which is all rhetorics ! Talk is Cheap, anyone can do it !
The Honest & Dedicated will need to break away & Resign from BN (UMNO,MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc) to allow an Honest & Dedicated representative to be re-elected to convince the rayaat & sincerely “Walk their Talk”.
One by one….steadily…they will jump ship with a choice to live another day in the PR lifeboats or DROWN forever !
What more is there to say or advise !
Just sit back & watch more action with the great BN Domino Tsunami.
The monster that the rayaat chose/elected/created becomes uncontrollable & refuses to listen to the peoples’ sentiment, pleas, etc, to accept criticism, to apologise & correct the situation - in self denial !
“Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely” - The Greed for Status, Power, Croonies, Supporters & Money !
To step down gracefully would be POSSIBLE (like the late Tun Tan Siew Sin , one of our admirable Finance Minister & many others during his time ) if they have Honour, Integrity, Transparency, etc without any Skeletons in their closet…..but with our present Politicians and their “Gravy Train” which they encouraged, WILL NOT ALLOW them an “Honourable Exit”.
Anytime anyone points their finger at somebody, three fingers are pointed at themselves - we are the cause of our problems or rather…WE allowed it to happen !
History has shown us over and over again…but Man never wants to LISTEN & LEARN - as in the Phillipines with Marcos, Indonesia with Suharto, Singapore with LKY & now it is at our doorsteps.
Each & everyone of the Politicians, Govt servants including us… have a choice to decide.
Recycled politicians have past histories which might not be acceptable to Head of States, parties , constituencies , our investigative bloggers & the rayaat.
I personally believe that ultimately God will anoint the True Leaders of this great nation not necessary from any party.
Who knows…a Phoenix could arise from the ashes of BN as a True Leader for Malaysia & Malaysians!
Just look at YB LGE, the new CM of Penang. God blessed him (which even he did not expect) for his sufferings & abuse by Man in trying to help the Innocent.
Someone posted a question in one Blog :
“What Happen to our once harmonious and proud society?
I still remembered the times when my late father can kamching very much with the malays, the indians and we all used to be so united.”
The answer is ….
Our Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, “Bapa Malaysia” & his 1st cabinet were all established Noble & Humble people (professionally, financially & socially with good family backgrounds), had NOBLE intentions for this nation & its people to achieve Independence from the Colonials.
Everyone in general was of ONE mind - multi-cultural with no racial, cultural & religious barriers - it was a beautiful Malaya, then Malaysia where everyone were friendly & buddies - males, females, young & old !
Since then…..WHERE DID WE GO WRONG ????
Our Bapa Malaysia was “too friendly with with all his children, adopted children, etc & his rayaat” so he was betrayed, back-stabbed & the rest is HISTORY !
Until we can have someone Noble & Humble as Bapa Malaysia…..to restore equality in Bolehland…..you can only dream about it !
Let us hope the BN Domino Tsunami, with its economic/financial impact to this nation & its rayaat will not bring about CHAOS (it will really HURT all of us !) - exactly what any PM in waiting is looking for maybe planned ??? ....By Default !
Well, it happened to Bapa Malaysia, so what's new in this Bolehland.
Let us all stay cool, walk our talk & not fall into that TRAP !!!!

it may the only party in the whole to have all its ex-presidents quiting the party or dying in power. However, i think that TDM's departure may not have that much impact in terms of exodus. Ku Li already announced his staying put, sensing blood. There may be others who may decide to try their luck while the party is rudderless.

Dr M jumps ship? I wish he jumps into the Strait of Melaka because the dirty and murky water suit him well. He has single-handedly runs our country down the drain yet he blame everyone but himself. He is the mother of all corruption, cronyism, nepotism and racsim yet he is trying to play angle now!
