The Scientific, Technological and Innovative way... of molesting
The Bar Council website uses theSun story about a molest report lodged against ex-minister who served in the 2004 Abdullah Administration. Crime scene was reported to be at a hotel restaurant in Brickfields.
The ex-minister is still an MP for the current term. He is a Muslim and he can't be drunk in a public place, can he?
How long is the arm of law in Malaysia, if we may ask?

Recently dropped minister under probe for sex offence
KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — He was harbouring hopes of returning to the Cabinet after the Umbo polls but this seems distant with a molest investigation engulfing him. The former minister, who was dropped after Election 2008, faces police action for molesting an employee of a cigar shop.
He was shocked at being dropped by the prime minister and was confident that if he did well in the party polls in December he would be back in the Cabinet.
According to Bernama, the woman's claim that the former minister molested her at a five-star hotel near KL Sentral last week is being taken up by the police and Kuala Lumpur CID Chief SAC II Ku Chin Wah said the woman, in her 30s who works at the hotel, lodged the report at the Brickfields police station on Friday.
The incident allegedly took place on April 14, he told reporters at the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters yesterday. Ku refused to divulge more details but did say that the ex-minister was currently abroad and police would summon him for questioning on his return.
He said police were investgating the case under Section 354 of the Penal Code which carries up to 10 years' jail or a fine or whipping or any two.

So sad things like this have to happen when politicians run out of job, no budget for angkasawan program, no second bridge, no fast train to South and left out in the wilderness. To kill off time in their hands they smoke and drink more or spend time and money overseas for a much needed holiday, also to release frustration. I recomment buying BAT and Carlsberg and Guiness shares.
I salute the victim who has the guts to make a police report.
As written in history, the downfall of man is because of a woman. With so much retirement funds just go to London and spend 130 pounds can get a younger woman with brains.
Cant understand men sometimes!!! Life is never fair, some escape with murder , corruption and some get interrogated for groping a piece of arse!!!!

Ex-minister had no intention of outraging my modesty, says lounge promoter
Thursday April 24, 2008
By LOURDES CHARLES
KUALA LUMPUR: The woman who alleged that a former Cabinet minister had outraged her modesty now wants to withdraw her report, claiming she “misunderstood” the incident.
The 30-year-old promoter at a lounge in a five-star hotel here, in a statutory declaration sent to Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail through her lawyer Datuk Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, said she was “sensitive and moody” at the time of the incident last Thursday.
She said she had known the former minister over the past five years, and that he had acted in jest without any bad intention. However, she said she felt offended at that time due to her “complicated mood which led to her lodging a police report the next day.
“I realise now that I may have misunderstood the entire episode that took place last Thursday.
“When he jokes, he sometimes likes to touch my shoulder or arms but it is something that I accepted as normal among friends especially those we have known for a long time,” she said in her statement.
The woman also said she regretted lodging the police report, as there was no intention on the part of the former minister, who is still an MP, to outrage her modesty or act inappropriately.
She said she was used to the VIP’s jokes and “rough ways” and had never objected to his actions nor felt offended by it previously.
“I cannot remember exactly the conversation between me and the VIP although in my statement to the police I may have said something else.
“I am afraid I may have misinterpreted or misheard (him). The VIP concerned is known to always joke like that and it is normal for him to be like that,” she said, and apologised for lodging the report.
Gani confirmed he had received a fax copy of the statutory declaration from Muhammad Shafee.
“I will forward this request to the police and it is up to them to investigate and get back to me,” he said.

Cops: We will still probe molest claims
The Star Online > Nation
Friday April 25, 2008
By ANDREW SAGAYAM
KUALA LUMPUR: Police will continue their investigations on a former Cabinet minister who allegedly molested a sales promoter at a five-star hotel in the city.
“Our role is to investigate the claims she made. After completing our probe, we will hand over our findings to the Attorney-General's Chambers which will decide if they want to prosecute or not,” City CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Ku Chin Wah said.
The former minister, a Datuk Seri in his late 50s, allegedly fondled a 30-year-old woman last Thursday at one of the hotel’s exclusive sections.
On Wednesday, the woman withdrew her report, claiming that she had “misunderstood” the incident.
Police have yet to record the senior politician’s statement, although it is learnt that he had returned from overseas yesterday.
“We are investigating the case under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty and we will also interview witness if needed,” SAC Ku said, adding that police hoped to complete the probe soon.
The woman’s lawyer, Datuk Shafee Abdullah, said the statutory declaration to withdraw the police report was handed over to the A-G's Chambers and the police.
In her report on Friday, the woman alleged that the former minister hugged her while she was working at the cigar shop of the hotel located in KL Sentral.
It is learnt that the Datuk Seri is a regular diner at a restaurant in the hotel.

It Is Illegal To Withdraw Police Report - Karpal
April 24, 2008 19:53 PM
KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 (Bernama) -- A person lodging a police report cannot at his whims and fancies withdraw the same report by way of a letter or statutory declaration because that person runs the risk of being charged with making a false, said DAP national chairman Karpal Singh.
The woman who lodged a police report against a former Cabinet Minister alleging he had hugged her while she was at work cannot withdraw the report under the law, he said in a statement here Thursday.
"The police have to investigate the woman's report despite withdrawal of the same by her. If the allegations against the ex-minister as set out in the report are true then the police have no alternative (but) to take action against him for outraging the modesty of the woman.
"It is a serious offence under Section 354 of the Penal Code which carries imprisonment of up to 10 years or fine or whipping or two such punishments," said Karpal.
He then stated that on the other hand if it was revealed in the course of police investigations that the contents of the report was false, then the woman concerned should be charged for giving false information to the police.
The offence was punishable under Section 182 of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term which may extend to 6 months or fine up to RM 2,000 or both.
The woman reported that the ex-minister outraged her modesty when she was working in her retail outlet in a hotel in KL Sentral then withdrew it stating she had misunderstood the incident.

Probe into molest claim to continue
NST Online » Local News
2008/04/25
KUALA LUMPUR: Police will not drop investigation into a molest allegation by a woman against a former minister, despite the victim's retraction of the report.
City police chief Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman said the police would continue investigating the case and were waiting to talk to the former minister, who was currently overseas.
"It is not up to us (police) to drop the case. We will record a statement from the VIP when he returns to find out what transpired," he said yesterday.
Muhammad Sabtu said police were interviewing eyewitnesses and would forward the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor's office soon.
The 30-year-old woman had, on Wednesday, retracted a report she lodged last week alleging molest by the former minister, in his 50s.
The woman's lawyer, Datuk Shafee Abdullah, said his client had given him a statutory declaration to retract the police report, claiming that the whole situation was a misunderstanding.
The statutory declaration has been handed over to the Attorney-General's Chambers and the police.
In her report on Friday, she alleged that the former minister hugged her last Thursday while she was at work in a cigar shop at a five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur Sentral, Brickfields.
It was lodged at the Brickfields police headquarters.
Muhammad Sabtu said police may recommend that the woman be charged with lodging a false report if the investigation leads to this.
Meanwhile, lawyer Karpal Singh said yesterday the woman could not withdraw the report, according to the law.
"A person who lodges a report cannot at his whim and fancy withdraw it by way of a letter of statutory declaration. A person who lodges a report runs the risk of lodging a false report.
"He is bound by the contents of the report."
Karpal said action against the former minister should be taken if the contents of the report were found to be true, even though the report had been withdrawn.
