Credit when credit is due

I wrote in passing on March 15 that Maxis' Huawei-powered wireless broadband didn't give me the HSDPA speed. I noted that, de facto running at UMTS via Network 50212 particularly on March 12 and 13, the service couldn't move the packets at my office which is located on the 28th floor of Komtar, Penang. In desperation, I bought a Celcom/Vodafone version of the same 3.6Mbps application, and the packets did fly!

To my surprise, Maxis folks did read my blog and sent their engineers -- within a week of my blog -- to take the reading of throughput in my office, not once but thrice!

That was because I said reading throughput is like taking readings of blood pressure, once is never accurate. So the guys came back -- with the second and the third time armed with a product of their rival, a Celcom/Vodafone Huawei unit.

The insult is that performance of Celcom/Vodafone tanked at the material time Maxis engineers took comparative readings in my office, in front of my own eyes. Thus far, I have gone back to Maxis and two-time Celcom on on redundancy basis.

And surprisingly again, on the quiet, Maxis has started pumped up to HSDPA in Komtar and Burmah Road areas in Penang last Sunday, though the service was intermittent the whole last week and back to normal now.

I am obligated to give Maxis credit when credit is due.

they did tat bcos u're a mp or bcos u're a maxis user? hmm...if they act because u're a maxis user it would be kinda 'weird' cos i've lodge a complaint on their website and no one ever replied.

but u've never did an official complain but they sent someone to help u. it seems like this kind of attitude is not only happens in politics but in companies as well. professionalism? it's b*lls**t.

lovehurts, Maxis did reply you if you complain from the web site. I did it two times, both they replied me. I am just a ordinary maxis user.

HOWEVER, it took them about 60 days to call back. :-)

It was like almost cannot remember what was it about... ha!

Greeting Mr. Jeff

Glad to hear Maxis is super duper fast in servicing you .. its not suprising, as you are a YB
unlike me who complained and received no feedback from Maxis ...

Indeed the operator gave 'unlimited' time for Maxis to fix the problem, then no news from them.

I feel like throwing away thier modem into Sungai Gombak

Did they bring a long a cartoon of chocolate instead of just a box of chocolate they sent you last time.. some years ago ?

I think Maxis in this case had done well as they are pro active in fixing a problem. Other providers must do the same as this is the only way to bring progress to our country. If they do not, I think the market force, i.e. the Rakyat aka customers aka the BOSS will give them a big boot as what they had just done to the BN government.

Would there be any vacant YB seat in the next election? I would like to nominate myself in order to enjoy such great service from Maxis.

ya la.

Jeff Ooi mana pernah support GLC company.

Semua corrupt mah !

I guess the best way to send a customer feedback is through your own blog.

They had to attend to YB Jeff for obvious damage control reasons.

If you use their standard feedback protocol, they can always take their own sweet time, if they ever attend to you at all.

Well Jeff, your readers are sure right about being a MP. You get things done super fast. I'm just staying just few blocks away from KOMTAR but had not gotten any solutions to my ever slow Maxis connection for the last 15 months.

Even I'm patient and giving them time to rectify their problems, I'm about to give up hope on them. Georgetown area with no stable access to the internet services? LOL. I wondered why they chose Pulau Tikus and Bayan Baru with high speed access and forgo the business area of Georgetown.

Just a rant of my dissatisfaction here.

INTERNET does not operate in a legal vacuum.
