Jeff,
Great effort on your part and you seem to be on the right track. Here are some more sparks for your Ceremah at the Stadium.

Recently Najib was interviewed by Aljazeera and the questions that were too late for them to ask.

Didi Najib order the Postponement of the Altantuya Murder Trial to 17the March 2008?

Has the Judiciary taken the cue and is reading the message very well and has now ordered a more than two week break. What is the reason for doing so?

What would the voters think about this temporary stoppage of the trail? Too embarrassing for the BN ruling government? More details at

Read an article by The Star Wong Chun Wai about the language you used in campaigning. I do think multilingual is important ability to be a successful politician in PG, and I guess that won't be a problem to you. Be realistic.

JEFF OOI says: Wong Chun Wai missed my speech at Han Chiang on March 1. In his article, he doesn't seem to know the terrain in Pulau Tikus today.

could you please post a youtube link of your ceramah afterward? looking forward to your speech!

Jeff,

Finally I had the opportunity to see your ceramah in person in Han Chiang stadium (Penang).

Visibly bulk of the crowd there was gathered and waited to see you and hear your speech.

Please remember all those who waiting for you in pouring rain (me including :) ).

Hopefully the turn out of the crowd could spell a change in Penang.

Good Luck and all the best. :)

Jeff,

I was there in Han Chiang , standing with thousand of penangites outside the pouring rain as the indoor stadium was full house. Your speech was inspirational, and we feel we don't stand in vain.

My estimate is, there were more than 10000 people there, and the figure would have double or tripple if not because of the heavy rain.

Once again, congrats, and may the force be with DAP!

Hi Jeff!,

I'm an regular reader of your blog. I want the opposition to highlight one thing which I happened to notice recently in The Star paper dated 01 Mar'08. MIC has put out an Ad. of its accomplishments so far. In that MIC has mentioned that RM3.2 (yes, I couldn't believe my own eyes, it was Ringgit Three and Twenty Sens) was distributed as charity to more than 2,000 people over the last two years. This is next to nothing. They have themselves owned up that they are fit for nuts, not even able to do charity work properly. Even by their own admission, RM3.2 for more than 2,000 people means less than 1 sen per person. And they took two years to do it. (Imagine them calling passerby by and saying "Anybody wants less than 1 sen, less than 1 sen, this is charity from MIC"). For verifying this, please see the star's Central Edition. The next time I see Samy Vellu, I want to give him that RM3.20 which he so grudgingly gave to the people, and he has the highest sense of stupidity to even tell it out. RM3.20 won't even buy a breakfast or meal. And he asks us what he has not done for us! Pity this fellow. He lives in the stone age.

i drive there at 7:30pm and face a pretty bad traffic jam. not able to beat the traffic after some detour, so i go back.

hopefully later got video for us to view online.

it should be a great session !

i just came from a downpour during the ceramah at TTDI, damansara.

the weird part is that nobody left (literally) we stood in the rain, hid at the shop lots but we did not leave. amazing ... true die hards.

Theresa Kok spoke before Raja Petra and she spoke really well. She says that she is surprised by the turnouts at these ceramahs and that DAP had not anticipated the extent of the call for change.

I read that you had quite a do yourself at the Han Chiang Hall ... BRAVO!

Hi, Jeff,1st, I wish you all the best of luck; 2nd of all, I need to seek your advice / help; I am from Kedah, and SPR has registered my name on my behalf as voter, I m not knowing this until I check online; anyhow, I was allocated to an area where only PAS and BN are contesting all these while; I tried to change to PJ area when I kow about it, but they said I have to change my the address in my IC, due to the trouble, I didn't change; My question is that, is there any other way to change the voting location apart from changing IC? kindly assist. thanks in advance! (Note: Even if it is only PAS and BN, I will still vote for PAS, no choice!!! as long as its not BN!!)

I was at Han Chiang and was truly impressed by you. Just something to share with you. Months back i heard this from Ai Fm. A young chap called and commented : during my ah gong's days, he can "cia pa pa, kun pa pa". My dad's days : cia a pa, kun a pa. My days : cia a pa, but kun be pa coz i have to work so hard to earn a living. I am worried that when it comes to my children's generation, my children will cia be pa,kun be pa. That left a great impression on me. I believe that these simple sentences will speak to the hearts of the hokkien speaking crowd.

i was at this ceramah as MAFREL election observer.

i was overwhelmed with the huge crowd that turned up say to be about 10,000. clearly anwar was the most popular speaker as all throughout his speech, cheers followed loudly.

among the DAP speakers, a few of us think you, jeff ooi was the best. you spoke clearly with good english and presented factual facts!

it's true many said that the huge turnout doesn't necessarily mean all of them will vote for the opposition but i hope at least after listening to so many speakers, their conscience will be pricked and they will be aware that it is pertinent that we deny BN the 2/3 majority.

Last night, I attended a political rally organised by Dap in Han Chiang High School, Jelutong. The atmosphere was like going to a concert. My apolitical brother, Frederick, was shocked when we reached the road leading to the school. It was jam-packed with cars and motorcycles. Inside the hall, we were greeted by thousands of people.

When PKR de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and Dap Secretary General Lim Guan Eng arrived, the crowd grew to more than 8,000 people, both inside and outside the hall. Speakers who got the warmest welcome were Anwar, Lim and popular blogger Jeff Ooi.

The organiser collected more than RM38,000 when the tally was announced.

Please watch this space for a short video.

Hi Jeff,

I was there in Han Chiang that night. It was a my first time attend politic ceramah & it was great. There will have more than 20K peoples to attend if not because of traffic conjuction & not enough of parking space.

From my observed, Anwar, you & Liew zhen Tong having more facts & data to talk & show, if most of the DAP candidate can collect more data for comparison among the last 10 yrs achievement in Penang, i believe all the penangite will supports DAP & pobably & hope penang was under DAP rulling after this election.

Great speeches at both Han Chiang and Taman Free School. You are right about Koh Tsu Koon’s promise to Penangites. His promise to make Penang equal as Singapore by 2009 are just merely empty promises to win the hearts of the people at that time. I hope Penangites could open their eyes and judge for themselves how equal are we compared to Singapore.

In yesterday’s paper (03/03/2008-The Star), Koh Tsu Koon says that the state could not be compared to Singapore, as Penang is a state not a country at whole and comparing Penang to Singapore is like comparing an apple to an orange.

As a Penangite, I see the statement as not true and I believe Penang has equal potential and opportunities as Singapore if govern and develop well. Our standard of living is low and as like you’ve said our yearly per capita income is not even 10% of that in Singapore. Hopefully fellow Penangites will make a better judgment after knowing all these.
