Endorse Jeff Ooi

The foreign Press, especially those in Singapore, is interested in the new phenomenon in Malaysia -- bloggers running for Parliament, online fund-raising ala Barack Obama, and e-Campaign.

Thus far, Reuters, TODAY, New Paper and Channel News Asia have interviewed me on the same topic.

Even Singapore blogs are plugging for us (see The Wayang Party)

Home Ground

At home in Penang, the obnoxious super 5xMom (chanlilian.net) is helping this blogger to recruit local campaign volunteers. Thanks Lilian!

Today (Feb 23, Saturday) at 11.00am, the PEOPLES’ DECLARATION will be launched at the Blog House in Bukit Damansara in Kuala Lumpur. The six political parties who have endorsed the declaration will be invited to attend together with civil society movements, NGOs, and members of the blogging community. I was told that JEFF 4 MALAYSIA will be endorsed. Thanks folks.

I was also told that elections watch group Malaysian for Free and Fair Elections (Mafrel) has included Jelutong, the constituency where I stand, under surveillance. I gladly welcome that as I have placed my campaign team to be on the look out for unfair election tactics by the opponent parties, including the Election Commission.

On February 29, Aliran Secretary Dr. Francis Loh, who is also the Professor of Politics in USM, will speak on the topic: 2008 election: Issues, Process, Context . The forum starts at 8.00pm at the IC Church, Pulau Tikus.

to folks in the Klang Valley, I hope you give your solid help to my comrades running in the Greater PJ area, with Tony Pua at the helm.

Please visit DAP FOR PJ at dapforpj.org.

The Edge business weekly will feature both Tony and I in this the coming week's edition.

Last but not least, folks in USJ-Subang Jaya, and the electronic community that I started in 1999, had been generous in helping me to raise funds for the JEFF 4 MALAYSIA campaign too! I believe they now understand why I had chosen a Penang seat as the launchpad to change.

Really appreciate it, folks!
