'Uncle, follow me to Parliament'

"Uncle, I invite you to follow me to Parliament on Feb 16, 2008. If you follow me, the children and I will be safe and the people of Malaysia will understand the meaning of human rights better."

That'a the little message from five-year-old W Vwaishhnnavi, who issued a challenge of sorts to Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) chairperson Abu Talib Othman.

Vwaishhnnavi is the daughter of Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) chairperson P Waythamoorthy.

On Feb 16, little children want to meet the Prime Minister to present him with roses, with lots of anticipation.

I hope Abu Talib doesn't do what Mahathir did to a UK school kid who wrote to him asking to save Sarawak forest in the 80s.

And i hope those children present that day will tell the "emperor" that he is naked.

I think it is a shame to use little girls for something like this.

Shame on you Jeff for publishing this.

JEFF OOI says: The source is Malaysiakini, for which I gave the URL. I am sharing the story with my readers. Shame on you for your naivette in this age of free (free as in freedom, not $$$) access Information

I think this 3 year old (plus another 100 kids) kid is being exploited by the politicians who are trying to humiliate the PM. She must be writing the letter by copying from a script. I wonder is she really know and understand what she is writing in that letter. Why not just go and send the rose and tell the PM 'please free my Papa because I ant my Papa back'?

2nd class malaysian..
question for you..

If she is copying from script and doesn't know what she is doing and doesn't understand what she is doing..even sending the rose is also meaningless as you suggested....as you think this 3 year old cannot grasp things.

It is her father....she misses him. What right have you to say she is exploited. Your father is not in jail for some flimsy excuse of national security and connection to terrorist group.

INTERNET does not operate in a legal vacuum.
