RM85K... and here comes Crazy Guy II
UPDATES... As at 01:46hr...
Donations received from Screenshots readers:
1 ) Maybank2U: RM68,424.29
2 ) PayPal: US$5,345.91 net after handling fee (roughly RM17,106.90).
With the latest tally of about RM85,500.00 in total, that's about 85.5% of the target for this online campaign, i.e. to raise RM100,000 from readers of this blog. Thank you very much.
CRAZY GUY STRIKES AGAIN!
Meanwhile, that crazy guy who pledged to make another contribution of RM10,000 towards the JEFF 4 MALAYSIA election campaign if the contributions from Screenshots readers hit the 70k mark, has made another RM10,000 via a cash deposit today!

The captured amount in the bank and Paypal now reaches about RM85,500.00, or about 85.5% of the target of the fund raising amount.
Don't forget, that crazy guy also said he will make another contribution of additional RM10k, when the contributions from Screenshots readers hit 100k -- because 'we want to give not just 100 percent, but 110 percent'.
Today, that crazy guy wrote to me again after he sent me the JPG of the bank-in slip:
Jeff
See that 70k will not be a problem since the amount has already hit 64k. Here is the bank in slip for 10k as agreed, just banked in. Will do likewise at 100k.
CRAZY GUY II
Meanwhile, here comes Crazy Guy II.
When I was about to speak at a ceramah in Pulau Tikus Tuesday night, a party worker handed me cheque written on United Overseas Bank (UOB). Apparently it was issued in my name from an anonymous person. The amount is RM10,000.00
The same man has called me immediately after I had finished my ceramah in the Tanjung constituency on Monday night. He engaged me in a sharp-tongued conversation, poking me on why he should giving away RM10k of his life saving to my campaign fund. He asked me if voting in the Opposition cou;d really make a difference.
I must say I was equally sharp-tongued, telling him that after reaching the RM50K threshold -- which barely covers the expenses for the basic needs in an election campaign for a Parliamentart seat with three state constituencies with over 60,000 voters -- I would rather have more people getting involved in my cause than receiving plain money.
I explained to him patiently: I will get RM100K by having 100 people donating RM1K each, or 200 people with each donating RM500. To get more people involved in the meaning of a general election, I would prefer to have 100,000 people donating RM1 each. I will get the same RM100K, but I would have gotten 100,000 sharing my cause actively -- to dismantle the Umno-dominated race-based politics in Malaysia.
Anyway, but the time the Crazy Man II's cheque is cleared, I would have achieved RM95,000.00, or 95.5% of my original target of getting RM100k from Screenshots readers.
I have started to re-donate some of the money I collected to fellow candidates who need fund -- so that more Rockets could be launched into the Parliament and the Penang State Assembly -- and I think I should save some to set up a service centre in Jelutong, win or lose.
DAP has touch rock bottom in the last three general elections, state-wise. Win or lose, I think It's time to rebuild the grassroot strength to get prepared for 2013.
Please continue donating, as Crazy Man 1 had said. Give me your 110% support. No amount is too small to make a difference.

Thank you all, again.

Jeff,
I'm so glad that you have almost reached your target. I donated on the very first day that you had the paypal widget on your main page.
You are way ahead of the curve as far as online campaign donations in Malaysia is concerned.
Please keep people like me (outside Malaysia) abreast of your daily campaign activities.
