One of the justification for raising toll according to the PR minister for toll concessionaires was the low volume of traffic.

This is absurd logic. The reason you are having low traffic IS because your toll is unacceptable. To increase toll will further lessen the traffic. And what do you do then? Increase toll even further?

And what was the terms for the concessionaire when they took on this deal? If the traffic was high and they made lots of money do they give them back to the Govt? And the Govt pass it back to the drivers thru reduced tolls?

I love the way these deals are structured. If the takings are good, the concessionaires pockets them. If they are bad, the Govt.(read taxpayers) subsidizes them. One has to read more into such one sided agreements. Because no one can be THAT stupid.

The Govt. has always said our toll rates are the cheapest among Asean countries whenever tolls are increased ie. comparing our subsidised toll rates with other countries' toll rates which are not subsidised.

Somebody, please do the maths. What will the toll rates be if there is no subsidy & compare it with other countries' toll rates? This is more logical obviously as the subsidy although paid by Govt. comes from taxpayers or road users.

Why are you guys talking about and bitching about what we all know. It is now time to change the govt and put an end to these daylight robberies once and for all. Vote these clowns out! For those fence-sitters and 'hope-others-would-do-the-work-for-you' types, we need your votes too to kick out the corrupted and racist monkeys.

Otherwise, we will have to content with the likes of Kiary the monkey, kerismuddin, our very own Malaysian 'Rip Van Winkle' and others such as our 'Russian-Space-Lover' minister until they rob the country into bankrupcy.

He said some of the tolls lost money because traffic was less. How does he or anyone other than the concessionaires know this for sure? Is there an audit that clearly confirms what is collected is what is shown or banked in? Many motorists don't collect the receipt when they pay at the toll gate.
