Wheelchair: Badruddin apologises to Karpal

MP for Jerai Badruddin Amiruldin (BN -- Umno), apologised to MP Karpal Singh (DAP - Bukit Glugor) in the Dewan Rakyat today.

However, Karpal was not in the House to accept Badruddin's apology. Fong Po Kuan (DAP-Batu Gajah), who represented Karpal, praised Badruddin for his action.

"You have just set a very good example (to everyone in the Dewan Rakyat). I will certainly pass the message to Karpal," she said.

Badruddin made the apology while debating the Supply Bill 2008 this morning. Apart from Karpal, he also apologised to "others who could have been offended" by his statement

Last week, Badruddin came under fire for disparaging Karpal Singh for being wheelchair-ridden because God had punished him.

If anyone still recall the bocor case, there is a grace period for spin and twist. I will not hold my breath.

Taking Badruddin's apology at face value, it is good that he is man enough to apologise for his gross mistake.

None of us is perfect; we all make mistakes.

It should be the norm for all of us - including the nation's leaders present and PAST - to promptly seek to say sorry when errors and misdeeds are pointed out conclusively.

Without being pressured to do so. Without waiting to be pushed till our back is against the proverbial wall, when saying apologising is then the most "cost effective" option to avert greater political losses or inevitable disaster.

And to try our level best to undo the wrong we have done, to make amends for the harm we have caused.

My apologies to Badruddin for predicting that he will not apologize to Karpal Singh on this issue.

Isn't it wonderful how mounting public pressure and the proximity of an election can change an adamant man who was bend in never wanting to apologise to another that he has hurt to apologise? Wonder also why it took so many days to do so.

Bad's reason was that it was uttered in the heat of the moment. I don't believe that as he should have apologised immediately the next day if he was remorseful but instead he even declared he wasn't going to apologise at all to Karpal. This is NOT the first time this man has uttered hurtful words to others as many can still remember. He is not a sincere man and will repeat his circus act again like in the past.

Does anyone smell the word "Election" ?

It's just around the corner...

INTERNET does not operate in a legal vacuum.
