Lingam Tape: Duo face jail sentence in protecting whistle-blower
PKR vice-president R Sivarasa and party worker Sim Tze Tzin today told the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) that they would not divulge the identity of their source of the Lingam Tape.
Seven days ago, the ACA has given them an ultimatum to divulge the details of the source by today, or risk going to jail.
Under Section 22(1)(c) of the Anti-Corruption Act, the duo face a maximum fine of RM10,000, or a maximum two years of jail sentence, or both.

This morning, Sivarasa and Sim visited ACA headquarters in Kuala Lumpur to state their stand.
They also informed the agency that the notice compelling them to reveal their source was an abuse of the ACA power.

Earlier, PKR announced that the whistle-blower will only testify in a Royal Commission, over which the Abdullah Administration is dragging the feet.
Sim told me on October 2, after he was questioned by the ACA, that he would stand his ground. He didn't bent.

Notice to give information? The rakyat would like to see that served on Najib and Hishamuddin for information on the contracts issued out when they were respectively in mindef and sports that have recently been highlighted in the auditor-general's report but then again one won't be surprised if and when that is done, our astrowan will report back to say he saw a cow on the moon.
To get to the truth, you don't encourage whistleblowing by blowing the whistlers.
Double standards progressing next to triple standards. Keep it up, Umno mofos of mofos.

Therefore, a scramble to unearth the whistleblower begins. Truly one can see the obvious 'under the counter dealings' with the ACA.
Possibly potential members of the Judiciary to be implicated -once the whistleblower testifies- are scared of being blown of their cover.
I do hope the Commission will be established ASAP and thus providing this whistleblower ample protection from the corrupted fat cats.

spiller, this is Malaysia not HK movieworld. Here the whistle-blowers will get killed execution-style, with C4.
But anyway, the notice used the word "menghendaki" to demand for the information. Isn't it that "hendak" means want, desire, need, wish? So why are they threatening in the notice that it is unlawful to not abide the notice when they clearly didn't say must or "mesti"?

If you have given your word that the source would not be revealed, then you must honour that word.
I remember it was Nalla that did not break after being interrogated, protecting his friend Anwar ibrahim. It is so sad to see him being sidelined at Ijok.
