Walk for Justice... A recap

"Lawyers don't walk everyday. Not even every month. Not even every year. But when they walk, then something must be very wrong."

March(a)_Ambiga_0085.jpgSo said Chairman of the Bar Council Ambiga Sreenevasan (picture left) when addressing a strong crowd of more than 1,000 members of the Malaysian Bar and concerned citizens at the Palace of Justice yesterday.

The participants of the WALK FOR JUSTICE then marched to the Prime Minister's office to hand over two memoranda from the Bar:

1 ) Memorandum urging the government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry to probe the state of judiciary consequent to the expose of the Lingam Tape; and

2 ) Memorandum on the establishment of a judicial appointments and promotion commission.

The Bar Council official website has also uploaded a recap of the historic event, and a picture gallery.

Bar secretary Lim Chee Wee, who was on board one of the seven coaches barred by Police from entering Putrajaya, and walked 5km alongside 200 passengers to join the main group at the Palace of Justice yesterday, has written an Op-Ed: The Great and Mighty Spirit of the Malaysian Bar.

This has been the third walk, also the longest and the biggest, in the Bar's history.

The first was in 1978, while the second was in 1998, when Anwar Ibrahim's defence counsel Zainur Zakaria was cited for contempt of court.

Folks

We are mighty proud of the Members of the Bar and the Bar Council.

Yes! Lawyers don't usually march. If they true, there must be something VERY SERIOUSLY WRONG!!

How true.

So guys, have a moratorium on those lawyer-jokes ok ?? At least for now!!

There is only so much the RAKYAT can take the arrogance and callousness of this UMNO-led Govt.

50 years of unchecked power since 1957, is the cause of this absolute arrogance of governance, even to the point of debilitating the Judiciary and making a mockery of Parliament, and worse stil, insulting the Monarchy and the Council of Malay Rulers.

Our fellow Malay brothers and sisters should now go out into the rural areas to tell our kampung folks, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!.

SUDAH LAH 50 tahun pemeritah UMNO.

What's the alternative to this useless government? PAS? DAP? Keadilan? Gimme a break.

If Bar is sincere, how come they are not suspending VK Lingam, pending investigation and disbar the bugger if he's found guilty (actually even if he's talkng to the wall, he should be disbarred because of his conduct which clearly unethical. So Bar please walk the talk. Walking 5km from palace of justice to Seri Perdana does not count, if you can't even take action on something which is clearly within your control

2 of the saddest news.

1. Nurin
2. 1/3 of Langkawi fishes dead and poisoned by a Malaysian.

How can there be murderers like that???!!!

1/3 of fishes of the 4000 number - can you imagine? And these are the main display of Langkawi Aquarium. I am so sad. I went to that Aquarium and the fishes swam there for 12 years. The Shark was 12 years old killed by a Malaysian.

We are losing our values.

1. When we get angry, we threaten others and frame one another of wrong doings. The news we read of corruptions are those framed for revealing discrepancies in the govt.

2. When we get threatened, we use C4 bombs from the government storage.

3. When we get angry, we poison fishes that have been brought all over the world.

What has become of us?

Money is our god.
Politics is our god.
We are power crazy.
We think that the short cut way is the way for Malaysians.
We think that we can get what we want, however we want it.

To solve problems, we murder.
To get what we want, we steal even if the baby is a sweetheart of another.
We resort to bribing and covering up.

[ DELETED ]

Every action has a consequence.
What we sow, we will reap.
But, it will also cause others pain and misery.

Why? Why do it?

Just live an upright life and be patient.
