Dr M out of ICU

Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad made further progress after his bypass surgery and was transferred out of the Intensive Care Unit this morning, the first day of Ramadan.

He is now recuperating at the Bunga Raya ward of Institut Jantung Negara (IJN).

Nine days into his post-operation observation, Dr Mahathir is walking unaided and consuming normal diet. In addition, he was also doing more vigorous chest and mobility exercises.

Visitation, however, continues to be limited to immediate family members only. It's to reduce the risk of post-operative infection.

May TDM be in good health and live to 2020 and see how all his policies implemented in his 22 years as PM affected the course of the nation.
