Keras dan tajam tetapi
Polis kita panggil ‘mata’ (dlm bhs hokkien)
Ini kerana mata mereka sangat tajam
Apabila raya mereka akan jadi rajin
Pen di tangan tetapi jarang bagi saman
Ini keran mereka dahaga mereka mahu minum teh
Apabila engkau nak pergi
Gejala ini tidak perlu memperbaikikan

Suara tinggi rendah macam tengah nyanyi R&B
Walaupun kadang kala sebahagian daripada mereka out of tune
Walaupun kadang kala sebahagian daripada mereka pecah suara
Jangan salahkan kerajaan hanya akan jaga rakyat tertentu

Mood mereka tetap rase bebas dan seronok

Walaupun engkau nak marah pun tak pe
Kerana guard kat tepi pun tengah bermimpi

Dia takkan layan engkau
Mereka yang memakai tudung perlahan-lahan melintas jalan
Engkau yang memandu kenalah berhati-hati

Asalkan hidup dengan gembira asalkan hidup dengan selesa
Jangan macam orang cina

Kerana ini adalah sikap hidup mereka

Has any similar immediate action been taken against KPMU on the insult to Christianity?

This blogger has lodge a police report. Is there any follow up? What say you Nazri?

Action Against UMNO Supporters' Website?
As mentioned in my previous post, I lodged a police report on a highly seditious and incendiary article posted only by Kelab Penyokong Maya Umno (KPMU). This has also been reported in Malaysiakini today.
The whole point of the article was to insinuate and accuse the fact that Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin was not a true Muslim but instead a closet Christian, but in doing so proceeded to hurl various hurtful, unfounded and grossly insulting remarks with regards to Christianity and its believers.
Penyunting laman web KPMU adalah Dato' Siddiq Akmal Ismail.
Rencana tersebut menuduh bahawa Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin, pemilik blog “Malaysia-Today” bukannya beragama Islam. Sebaliknya dia beragama Kristian.
We look forward to the fair and just Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who has preached responsibility in blogging, who is also the Internal Security Minister, to act without fear or favour.
PM, please, we need your comment on this as well.

After reading that, I can't really see what's so 'offensive' about the whole song. I bet 90% of the people making the hoohah about it has never even heard or read what it means, instead just mindlessly jumping on the bandwagon and bashing him after reading from the Harian Metro, the so-called golden bastion of journalism, that the song 'insults' Islam and incites racial hatred.
Or is Pak Lah and the cabinet too busy trying to create a diversion so that everybody forgets about the PKFZ RM4.6 billion bailout? After all, 'racist' rappers make more interesting news headlines.

Thank you for the translation so that more people can judge for themselves the happening in our beloved country. I hope it does somebody some good and bring about change for the better.
To those who made executive decision without watching the video, pls reconsider your action. In the video, the national anthem was sung as it is, unaltered in melody and its lyric too.

this talented young chap was a student of muar chung hwa high school. he's not a product of the mainstream education system and thus should know way ahead that it's a mission impossible to enter the local universities. hence, the local arguments in muar is that he has no right to complain that the local university is being unfair to him.
the same thing, in any other country, be it in neighbourly singapore or thailand, if there are such vernacular malay school there and that if a malay were to continue his secondary years in such schools knowing the same that he won't be accepted into local u, then he has to make plans for his tertiary education somewhere.
we hear that the education ministry is planning to do away with upsr and pmr and guess what? i hear that muar chung hwa high school is promoting itself to get standard 5 pupils to enter its school and they don't even need to sit for upsr next year .... yes .... straight to form 1 next year!
to a certain extent, 2 different education systems to cater to the demands of ethnicity is not doing any good to the country. just imagine another plural society in any other country doing the same!
at one time, vernacular schools were so low in students enrolment and chinese opted for missionary schools. i can say that the move by the government to change the medium to bahasa malaysia and hence the islamisation of such schools were the causes for the fallout and the resulting damage done.
but if the government has realised its mistakes and weaknesses and has reverted back to English, amidst the strong objections of Malays (and Chinese too), shouldn't there be a start to any compromise?
whatever it is, whatever it may be, namewee has spoken out what many others feel deep within them but they should also open up and search within themselves what are the root causes.
whatever it must be, there shouldn't be any chineseness, malayness or whatsoever but a single Bangsa Malaysia to forge ahead.
50 years of Merdeka. Where to?

It's a sad song. A reflection feel by some within our society but a criticism nonetheless and not without its merit if you think about it. What must we do to change and improve on from here? So nobody is neglected, nobody is left behind or feel as an outcast on our very own country.
It brings to mind also some of the policy our forefathers has lay before us and charted our nation down this very path and situation. For example the NEP, well intention policy but misguided in the overall long term on the nation being. It has served its purpose at that period of time and now must change. The ills of NEP are aplenty, also that wealth is not equally distributed as pool to the few if not the corrupted. There are always constant forces within our society not willing to change that and even politicize this issue still for the interests of the few.
New generations of Malaysian must wake up and think for themselves! The situation and reality that they are in now and future challenges of our nation. Be empowered and educated in whatever their roles and help chart a new way forward for Malaysia and Malaysian. I’m filled with great hope and certainty too, there will never ever be a song like this again. Negaraku, tanah tumpahnya darahku!! Selama Maju Jaya, Kita Hidup Bersatu!! Malaysia BOLEH!!

Nazri really doesn't have a clue about the defintiion of blogs and how the Internet works. He still thinks Youtube is a software like Kazaa that you can sue and they have branches. First it is overseas company which is not bound to some political idiot 's whim and fancies to sue or make changes.
Second he just did not know mandarin really well to comment on such lyrics.
All these effort to catch and crucify one boy who said the truth in a most creative way.
Should that be the case, lets law take its course on KJ and Hishamuddin for crying out seditious outcry for chinese blood and the usage of keris on chinese broadcasted throughout the nation thru Astro...Causing public unrest ...Let's haul up the other 2 politician who insulted women posted on the youtube.

What is the difference between NameWee and MatRempit? In term of behavior, lifestyle, language, attitude, age, they are similar. But in term of their privilege, it is a big different.
Why NameWee born as Chinese living in Malaysia has no privilege while Malay has "special privilege"? So we cannot ask this question because it is Seditious?
Supposedly MCA is helping NameWee to talk to the government, sort of like "comforting" the government. But it didn't work. MCA has failed NameWee.
The end result is even damaging for the MCA: MCA has failed the entire Chinese race to secure a respectable position in the Malay dominant government!
There is no difference between Apology and No-Apology as far as NameWee concerned.
Nazri should just stripped NameWee citizenship as an example of the [ DETELED ] special privileges in Malaysia. Go on, please. Do it.

Apology Rejected says Bernama & Malaysiakini and Nazri but STAR says Accepted – a case of bad misinterpretation of PM’s words perhaps.
But what is NOT reported is this V Chancellor (U T Mara) Prof Dr Ibrahim Abu Shah who was with Datuk Nazri, and he was caught saying:-
"We have to look into the Freedom of expression versus Public Order. There must be Public Order. Public Order overrides EVERYTHING else"
Public Order is the lethal weapon used by the keris wielding party that disrupts meetings.
“Public Order” is cheap talk. Anyone remember Raja Sherina – the woman who send the SMS . On Nov 5 06, more than 500 Muslims gathered to protest in front of a Catholic church in Silibin here following the spread of an SMS rumour that national mariner Datuk Azhar Mansor would be participating in the baptism of a group of Muslims there. The SMS had alleged that the Perak Mufti had confirmed that the baptism would take place.
Wasn’t she causing a big “Public disOrder”? And why was she let off? Was she a scapegoat for someone? So there is the rule of law but selective application of it? More details at:
http://powerpresent.blogspot.com/2007/08/more-pics-video-namewee-rapper-apology.html
and also from the horses’ mouth a Video clip link & Bernama’s 17 sec extraction (of Wee’s Video) according to the correct Negaraku lyrics

I find it patriotic. Honestly. He seems to teach us to love the country regardless everything that seems to be wrong.
Although it's a bit sensitive. It's worth to be expressed. This is already minor compared to what some political artist in the United States would have done.
I give the song thumb up.

It is less objectionable to rap the national anthem than to rape the nation.
Not to accept his apology on the grounds that it may create precedent if amnesty is given is tantamount to deflecting attention from the bigger issues boiled up in the rapper's lyrics.
That very action of deflection, some will say denial by omission, is cheating the nation.
The rapper didn't cheat the nation. People who are trying to throw a law on him are the ones who should be worried.
We are so good at telling other countries to go to the root causes of problems. Why not ourselves?
One more thing - it's cheap to try and hide behind the reason of 'sensitive issues' and weak to raise the threat of violence if those issues are raised.
Truth, reason and progress will never take root in this country.
Rapping is the least of our concerns.

the65thsquare,
I felt there is a lot of miscommunication over the 'kuku'. It inadvertently became so because of 'Negaraku' Song. The song and all being mine, it now becomes NEGARAKU ku.
Ask Dewan Bahasa Pustaka. Maybe my toe becomes KUKU ku.
Much ado over small stuff.
Turn the heat on the RM4.6 billion bailout!
This sum of money can last me beyond 50 generations.

It is a rap remix with the song negaraku, the first time I hear it, negaraku ku means negaraku aku. Hence, it is his version of the song. The way I see it, the original negaraku song lyrics is not changed but mixed into his rap, and the tone when he sang the negaraku portion, really showed that he loved the song. So, I don't see in anyway the national anthem has been insulted.
When I was still in school, we used to sing the national anthem in the 'padang perhimpunan', as you know, it was a boring tone. But, the way he sang it, made me love the song even more. The facts in his rap are obvious, we all knew it, you're not malaysian if you don't. But we need to overcome those imbalances, but not to blame each other. Isn't that what his song is about? Hasn't his lyric say we should not blame the government? What is it that is so seditious about?
Indeed, the various ethnic race in malaysia had been tolerant with one another for 50 years, some of us felt it is already approaching the limit and wanted to shout it out, everyone has this pressure when we think about what we had to go through and sacrifice some priviledges in order to live in harmony.
The song features three main categories, difference in cultures, corruption and imbalances. On cultures, we already have accepted each others' cultures long ago. Most of us don't complain about the early noise in the morning, it is a living fact we can't change. On corruption, the government should do something about it more aggresively. On imbalances, the song told me that live goes as long as we need to help the bumiputras. I think it is a good song that nurtures love for the country, two thumbs up.

What can I say?
These days only China and 2008 Olympic Games are worth mentioning in BBC World news.
Through NameWee-Ku, BBC World actually gave Malaysia some 5 min of free advertisement! Better exposure than the Malaysian Tourist Board. Don't you think?
The way I see it is: the more the Malaysian government want to punish the author of NameWee-Ku, the more the Malaysian goverment would have to explain to the world why ONE of her proud citizens risks everything to write this song???

this song only says openly what almost every chinese in malaysia thinks. it is nothing different from lee kuan yew's 'controversial' comments a few months back, but he sure shut up his opponents with his 'apology' listing all the newspaper reports on umno's racist remarks.
perhaps namewee should adopt the mm's tactic and document every single instance the negaraku has been altered and re-interpreted in the past, i'm sure there are enough examples.

Whatever the outcome, one thing is for sure. There is selective justice. It is in this country that justice is not blind. It is so selective that that whilst at one hand we have ministers coming out to say that the issue should not be politicized?
Look what is happening. The poor chap is put on the carpet on the high sounding that everything can be tolerated but not in this case. Is this not selectrive prosecution! What has happened to the person who was once an MB with the name spelt with two Mohammads, did he commit an offence bringing so much money into Australia and got caught.
Of course, he can turn around that the court there pronounced him not guilty? But then, the Malaysian side should ask where did all the moneys money from? From under the table or above the table? Let him say with his right hand on his heart and with the holy book?
Again, there is a close one eye MP? What has happened to his case? What about the forge APs? Are they prosecuted as well?
What about the mat rempits? who break every bit of the laws? No wonder the other day in the SUN somebody said, Malaysians are law breakers instead of respecting the laws...
We are also watching whether the bus company that caused so many deaths recently will also be prosecuted? What has happened in the last 50 years or perhaps, the last 20 years, where a good system left behind for us has been turned upside down!

Haha!
This song is funny! I refrained from commenting on this earlier on because I have not then read the translation.
Now that I have read them, this song is good because it looks at things positively, that the Chinese in Malaysia are in fact better off than the Malays due to the race-biased policy the government has instituted. It has made the Chinese more resilient, resourceful, and creative.
As a Muslim, as a Malay, I do not believe for one second that Wee need to apologize at all.
However, as someone who is familiar with the protocol surrounding the National Anthem, the National Flag, etc, there are certain decorum that Wee must abide too.
For example, one cannot move or sit down (unless one is incapacitated) when Negaraku song is sung or played. To do so is disrespectful.
But then again, being disrespectful to the National Anthem is not a punishable crime.
The Americans burn their own flag to show their disapproval of certain government policies.
