MCMC whacks DiGi on general competition practices
Its a fact that MCMC chairman Dr Halim Shafie has been sitting on the SMS Scam issue without taking firm action on repeat violators of law, some exceeding the maximum tolerance level.
But he has time to invoke the law -- Economic Regulation, the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) -- to nab DiGi on general competitive services.
August 24, Halim invoked Section 136 of the CMA and listed it as a Commission Direction, the first for 2007, pertaining to the distribution of SIM cards and marketing collatorals by DiGi retailers.
See PDF evidence here.
Why can't we see a similar Commission Direction for known SMS Scammers?

For God's sake, with due respect, I don't think that the guy understand the complicated wordings of the directive that he'd signed.

I thought all the operators practise the same thing? Dealers get more incentif if stick to brand loyalty.

Isn't Digi undermining margins at Maxis and Celcom through its aggressive pricing strategies? MCMC owes its existence to Maxis and Celcom and it is only right that MCMC chairman Dr Halim Shafie serves the interest of Celcom and Maxis. Just as he serves their purpose when ignoring all the noise you made over the scamming which continues unabatted as I understand it.
Now, Jeff the rest of us know all this and have accepted it, so why can't you?
