Bad bad link
Last night, towards midnight, my Streamyx link to international sites was so bad that Gmail can't even show up.
Did you have the same problem? I knew Paul Tan had the same problem a night before.

Last night only connections on tm network could be reached, all the rest was totally dead.
Even if they were locally connected say via Jaring.
Forced me to stop working.

Yes. I was so upset that I smashed my laptop and burnt down my neighbour's house and whacked the stray dog in my neighbourhood and devised an evil plan to take over the world.
In other words, I went to sleep.

For me, since last week the internet connection is not stable. I'm wondering whether I can refuse to pay my tmnet bill.

Yes, it was bad the last two days, connecting to Goggle & U-Tube. It took me hours to upload the Chief Justice Video Clip (his defensive & evasive replies), which eventually found its way to the Malaysian Bar Website.
The Bar Council blasted the Chief Justice for questioning the need to use English common law after 50 years of independence and seeking its abolition.
Why? “The common law system is one of the greatest and most respected legal systems in the world. It also forms the basis of public international law. There is no other comparable legal system that commands such universal respect among jurists”
According to a commenter, Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh wants to be a hero trying to change the Malaysian constitution from the Justice System side & be the first to “islam"ise the Malaysia legal system by renouncing Malaysian common law framework; common law is Malaysia basis for freedom of speech, religion.

yup same here. couldn't do anything until around 3 this morning in the puchong area. tried calling streamyx, seems they are stuck with the traditional business mentality. No calls are taken after 12 and they are the only ubiquitous land-base broadband providers for now in my area. slooooooooooow.

Jeff,
TM Net is carrying out yet another round of 'upgrade' works. You can read about it here. People on the Lowyat.net forums have also complained about the slowdown occuring a lot earlier than what the bulletin states.

Connections to International sites were really bad the last couple days, especially from 11:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. Even Yahoo! couldn't muster a whelp.

My company is hosting a website for its staff scattered globally to do some daily operation.
Now the oversea staff can't access the website for many days. Even a local Jaring user, can't access it though the site is running just fine. A streamyx line user, have its connection routed to time infra and back to streamyx again also cannot access. It is really distressing. I really hope it is due to the network upgrade which is ending on 24 Aug

Not sure how reliable this is (and I get very confused about bytes, KB etc...). I tested upload/download to sites in UK/NY and LA. All between 17.6kB/s for download and 20.4kB/s upload.
Then you can click and compare how you do to others around the world... and it gets very x10000000000000 depressing! Malaysia average is 134kB/s. Asia average is 262kB/s and Global average is 438kB/s.
