Free Nat Now! candle vigil

UPDATED VERSION. About 100 Malaysians, irrespective of race and religion, turned up at the candlelight vigil for Nat at the Ibupejabat Polis Daerah Dang Wangi, Jalan Stadium KL, last night.

The vigil started and ended in peace. There were speeches in all Malaysian languages, hymns, and a sing-along with Cliff Richard's Sing A Song of Freedom.

Oon Yeoh has a photo-blog on the event. Eli Wong has a post-vigil report, while Nat’s sister blogged live from the site:

Dad’s talking now. Thanks everyone. Feels that it is good that the gathering is Humanitarian not political. The Police have to do their job and he does not think they did a right thing. He’s Talking about how tonight is a reflection of our country with it’s muhbibahness...

I was elsewhere last night on a different level of appeal mission. Somebody has started an online appeal here.
