Selamat pengantin baru... Pak Lah & Jeanne
4th Floor Boys issue guidelines for media coverage of wedding
UPDATED VERSION. Inai di jari... Abdullah Ahmad Badawi & Jeanne (Danker) Abdullah. Akad nikah will be this Saturday.
Heartiest congratulations from Screenshots! Here comes the bride...

Here's the official announcement:

FLASH BACK Feb 02, 2007: "Jean used to be married to Osman Mahmud, Kak Endon’s brother, so this makes Jean her sister-in-law." RPK is accurate after all.
UPDATES 17:15hr: Apparently, all editors were rounded up to take specific instructions from the 4th Floor Boys at 3pm today.
Citing that 'it's a private affair', the media are expected to tone down on news coverage about the wedding, save for the announcement dispatched earlier.
When the editors returned, newsrooms staff were reminded that they couldn't use 'other sources' to write stories about Jeanne (Danker) Abdullah -- the reporters can't contact her friends or family for comments, or for anecdotes about her. Not even kindergarten friends' reminiscing stories nor personality pieces.
The media were also told not to “dig up anything” on Jeanne’s background or rely on what was being carried on the Internet.
Besides, the media had been instructed to run stories only based on official announcements that will be released regularly through state-owned news agency, Bernama.
Newspapers were also told not to accept congratulatory advertorials on the wedding.
"We will just have to wait (for) how The NST runs this story to gauze the amount of media restrain," Screenshots was told.
Comments

"I feel good,
I knew that I would, now
I feel good,
I knew that I would, now
So good, so good,
I got you"
No wonder Pak Lah is feeling good. Selamat Pengantin Baru

The real news here is that the Prime Minister, and bearing in mind the announcement is made on official government stationery, blogs and bloggers credibility is now affirmed and reinforced by the government.
All the admonishments by the various ministers, denials and the deafening silence of government officials is now creaming out to tell us all that you have far more reliable news on the blogs than the main stream papers can ever deliver.

"Jean used to be married to Osman Mahmud, Kak Endon’s brother, so this makes Jean her sister-in-law."
So now Pak Lah's children will have to call Jean step mum, who previous is their auntie. Jean's children (not sure if she has) who use to be cousin with Pak Lah's chilfren are now close siblings...
Whats next?

Greenjelly Bean, you asked, what next? Hey, I see flash before my eyes, son-in-law wondering if step-children have greater status and closer connection than son-in-law!..Hiya..unnecessary competition for attention!...But then again if step-children not of Oxford material...then not to worry...no challenge la.

JEFF OOI says: When a couple decided to take the vow of marriage, we should stop all diatribes and low-lows but to wish them well. Worse, you are using your typical narrow outdated Chinese sub-standard mentality as a yardstick to judge others' culture. I will be ashamed as I also have the Chinese root but I won;t be proud of what you have said and I have deleted. Screenshots

Congratulations!!! Now with your love life in check hopefully you can have your full concentration in governing Malaysia. Top of my wish list is eradication of corruption, eradication of crimes, eradicaion of poverty and mistrust between races.
I thought for a while RPT was putting up a spin in his article but how wrong I was. My apologies to RPK

one internet rumour vindicated.
now the ones (courtesy of RPK) about the yacht, the plane and the mansion should be given the benefit of doubt too?
since denials meant nought.

"RPK is accurate after all"?
Accurate in terms of who the lady the PM is marrying, yes.
But RPK's Feb 2007 posting also claimed as truth several other points, some of which may even be grounds for a libel lawsuit if they were not true. That there has been no libel lawsuit does not prove anything either.
There has been no proof one way or the other, so I won't be so quick to say that "RPK is accurate after all".
Anyway, I am much impressed by the stately but kindly demeanour of Jeanne Abdullah. Reminds me of the regal but not aloof bearing of Raja Nazrin's bride, Zara.
My very best wishes to the new couple.

It is good news. Why the 4th floor's 'kings' make it seemed so secretive?
Congrats PM & Jean!

We may not like the way you run the country, but it's really your business when it comes to running your own life.

I wish them all the best. Jeanne looks kind and caring.
And, Jeff, you are right to curb comments that are downright unfair.
Please keep it up and maintain the same standards throughout all your postings and comments by readers.
Credibility is all you have. Mesti jaga baik-baik. Once lost, nobody will bother what you post anymore... :)

There are human beings on the face of this earth who do not know what love means, or companionship. Those who have the opportunity to share with another then know that is grace, and be thankful for that which you experience. There is a brief time left for both of them to give and share whatever joy & comfort left. And we must wish them well. For a Q & A of his desire to get hooked again and a clip in his own words, check out at:
