Microsoft shopping for new evangelism in technology?
I have met numerous marketing evangelists from Microsoft, both in-country and overseas. They mostly impressed me with their suave, persuasive prowess in the technology field.
But Zaid Hamzah, a quintessential product of Singapore, a former employee of Microsoft, and now Bernama-labelled as a Singapore-based consultant with Microsoft Legal & Corporate Affairs, Asia Pacific, is certainly stretching Bill Gates' bill a little too far.
He should just stick to his professional hat in Microsoft and not start selling non-tech Microsoft snake-oil disguised as anti-terrorism.
Zaid is also the man on whose presentation I walked out during the Global Public Policy Conference 2005 organised by World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA). Just couldn't tolerate gross posturing of the incessant kind, professionally speaking.
Comments
This guy's comments are a huge wish-wash. [ DELETED - Seditious ] Islam Hadhari has become a word for everything that's good, in the same way the word democracy is used in the West. The way this is done is when people subsume all those positive things under one concept and that concept than becomes a panacea. So, in Western terminology, democracy is cure for everything that ills any particular society. The answer is always: we need more democracy! Likewise, among the AAB followers in Malaysia, Islam Hadhari has become the key that will solve all problems. The answer to all questions seems to be: we need Islam Hadhari! When a concept becomes fuzzy and starts describing everything, it really describes nothing!

By the way, he should remember to apply for change of citizenship from Singaporean to Malaysian first before he can be a candidate in the next GE.

Dude,
I don't like Zaid. I mean, I really don't like Zaid, and Zaid knows why I don't like Zaid. The entire Microsoft Malaysia also probably knows why I don't like Zaid.
But dude, I don't see what you're trying to get at.
Are you saying he's no good because he's Singaporean?
Are you saying that Islam Hadhari is non-tech Microsoft evangelism?
Are you saying that because you thought that he was a pompous, preening, self-promoting prick at the WITSA thing that you grossly and incessantly postured yourself by humbly walking out of the door?
JEFF OOI says: Dr Yusseri, looking at what you just said, is this how your head is wired that you are so clever in framing Roger Rabbit? Duh! ;-)

Well, Zaid speech is enough to terrorize my logic thinking.
After reading the 3rd time, I can only conclude, "Zaid, WTF you political speech has to do with technology".
