'Two events to boost Pak Lah's international image'
Wong Chun Wai says two events have been lined up in UK to boost the PM's international image.
The trick is by associating our No. 1 with global iconism -- not Louis Vuitton or Turkish yacht -- but in economics and politics, namely ( 1 ) the London School of Economics (whose alumni range from George Soros to Mick Jagger of Rollingstones); and ( 2 ) International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the world’s leading authority for research on political-military conflict -- an area Razak Baginda used to be an expert in.
The PM is also slated to speak at the World Economic Forum, Davos, an event that Choi Tuck Wo says will focus on several key issues like emerging economies and racial unity.
The Davos golden photo-opp is this... hehehe, Pak Lah may speak alongside Thomas Friedman, the author of The World Is Flat.
Hey Flat World, do appreciate that we are sending our No. 1 to address you, so please bear with us with our Emerging Economies 101 for a moment. This is the man who says his country has money, and his son has money, in a nation where toll rates are pre-programmed to go up for 33 years with no review, and fuel price doesn't come down once it's up.
P/S: While being there at IISS, could Pak Lah please bring this book for me? But Sir, you may forget about getting me Rip Van Winkle, though. Been there, done that.
Comments
I am increasingly perplexed by the paper's headlines. Is this that typical 'present and past tense' grammatical errors Datuk Wong wrote in his column. The headline implys that Pak Lah's image needs boosting. Why? Has it fallen or is it falling? It the boosting a present or a past or a future tense event.

All Pak Lah has to do is get rid of ministers and relatives who threaten minorities with blood to get the message of tolerance in the country. Forget trying to impress foreigners as Pak Lah does not have the ambience and charisma.
And please stop blaming pak Lah and present administrion for all the one sided agreement the government have to sanctify. That question should be raised to mahathir and Daim.

Guess the World is really Flat & Malaysia is running on Flat Tyres. At the speech, Pak Lah can give the international community some tips on how to get rich & also make family members bloody rich. And why should the fuel & toll prices change from their upward trend - Pak Lah needs the extra cash to purchase yachts & cruise liners for the people floating in Johor where onboard they will be served gourment food of rat shit goreng & rat urine appetisers!

It is more important for him to improve his deflating image locally first.
Such article if sanctioned by the "higher up" appears desperate

Talking about international image. TDM, he definately got a strong one, lots of people might not agree with what he says, but everyone do agrees that he definately represent something in international arena.
As for the current PM, he is nobody, in every events that he attended, he merely a hollow echo of the
event's theme, nothing more.
Mr. PM, if you ever read this, one piece of advice. Please remember that you are no longer an Ulama. When you are an Ulama and preach about GOD and religion, no one will ask you to prove anything you says, people will believe in what you say just because of your position as an Ulama.
Now you are Malaysia PM, things is totally different. When you talk about anti corruption, racial unity and other issues, please prove to us that you mean what you say. Ask us to simply trust you is not possible. (Yes, you did say that when we ask you on how the govenrment spend the money save from reducing petrol subsidy)
Pak Lah, SHOW US THE BLOODY PROOF!! You are now PM, not ULAMA!

Sorry, I don't trust Pak Lah or any people from BN. So, please dont ask us to trust you again. You have not kept even one election promise you made.
