That Turkish Boat & That Malaysian Boat Owner
There's That Turkish Boat and there's That Turkish Gullet.
"I take exception that in their eagerness to deflect the heat off the Prime Minister, certain irresponsible quarters should now try to drag and disparage the name of Dr Mahathir.
"This is pathetic. For your information, Dr Mahathir did go to Turkey in July this year for his holiday and to view a Turkish Gullet which was being built by her Malaysian owner who is known to Dr Mahathir as well as the Prime Minister. I am not at liberty to disclose the identity of the Malaysian. However, the yacht is certainly not Dr Mahathir's, nor does Dr Mahathir own any other yachts."
You have to be smart to ask the right question -- who's that Malaysian owner? -- and demand for factual facts, so says Sufi Yusoff on behalf of Dr Mahathir. Read Rocky's Bru who uncanned the can of worms December 18.
You don't have to be a rocket or satellite scientist to find that out, do you? Just ask Leslie Lopez about his story for Singapore Straits Times (June 30, 2006, Page 16) and contrast it against the December 17 Hurriyet story, which on record, has stayed unretracted by the Turkish newspaper to date.
Comments
You got to be a member of the "Rocket Users Club" and not rocket scientist before you can even utter the name of such prominent Malaysians I suppose. Anyone know any Malaysian who us a rocket user?

my new yr wish
1- a brain-packed leader minus the current pea-brained
2- an independent newspaper, not politically controlled
3- cancelled all the 'toilet visit' trip for ministers. use the 500mil to send to minister to cambridge for re-education.
4- NO MORE PRICE HIKE AND EMPTY PROMISE, we look like an idiot everytime they make stupid excuse since they thought we do accept it but the fact is, we dont. we are just waiting for the next election
Happy New Year

What that malaysian owner started with Mahathir, he continues with Badawi.
He's cronyism personified. Seems to have gone upmarket. Previously a four thousand pound sterling pair of british shoes; now (a ride on?) a yacht.
Badawi is exercising inelegant silence on cronyism. As the rakyat have seen in the past, cronyism and corruption are bedfellows.
eIe. Enough-is-enough.

As I sit here thinking of my future, reviewing my savings, and comforting my friends who have lost their Christmas to the floods, I am damn angry.
According to the leaders I elected, I have to dutifully “change my lifestyle” – perhaps move to a smaller house, drive a smaller car (or change to motorbike), eat roti canai for lunch, and lepak in Central Market for entertainment.
I have to dutifully “be charitable and make sacrifices” so that the PM whom I elected can spend millions to renovate his new official residence, buy his love boat, or go on holiday to faraway lands just to look at boats.
The PM who carries titles such as Mr Clean, Mr Nice, Mr Religious should be the best BN leader to rival Tok Guru Nik Aziz. With his kind of credentials, he should set a good example for the rakyat by living in a simple house (preferably wooden and without air-conditioning) and spending his vacation in a fishing village on the Malaysian coast. He should also go to work on foot.
Instead, it looks like the rakyat (people like me) have to spend our future in humble surroundings ala Tok Guru Nik Aziz style. The lavish lifestyle is reserved for the PM and his dynasty and his umnoputras.

The truth is relative as someone in Barisan Nasional said.
Vote not for them again, lest we weep again.
