To Alex Yoong & Malaysia!

A1GP is the grand prix that earns performance points for the country unlike Formula One, where glory largely goes to the individuals.

After leaving Formula One. Alex Yoong became the only driver for an A1GP in the first series. Last season, November 12, he helped drive Team Malaysia home to a 5th place finish and clinched the season's highlight in China where he won the Sprint Race.

In October, Alex represented A1 Team Malaysia and raced to the first victory of the season for the team in the A1GP Brno, Czech Republic, and doubled it with a second win in the longer Feature Race.

A1 Team Malaysia is sponsored by Proton.

Yesterday, Fairuz Fauzy drove for A1 Team Malaysia in the first practice session. He will hand over the car to his team mate Alex Yoong for the remainder of the race.

We wish Malaysia all the best in today's race.
