Will the military shut down Internet there? Will investor sentiments be dampened and spillover into Asean neighbours? How would be re-align our economic strategies to leverage the new political situation in the region?
What Wisma Putra says will be less important than what say the MoF and MITI.

sydput, why would the military shut down the Internet?
The Internet has been instrumental in exposing Thaksin's corrupted actions.
Also, just because the coup is being led by the military doesn't mean it will Thailand will turn into a dictatorship. We'll have to wait and see.

i'm takin the stance of the optimist when i congratulate the people of thailand and wish them all the best. when democracy is indeed eroding, the people have acted. i'd like to believe that while everyone may have had personal interests, this action was carried out by people with a conscience. if thailand changes for the better, which i hope it does, then that will be proof that good can prevails.
enough of the formality... the kind of garbage that takes places in bolehland can only happen in bolehland. i doubt we'll ever see the day the opressed in this country, and damn there are millions of them, stand up and say "Enough". ah well, we'll just have to see how things turn out in Thailand. If it goes sour, our cowardly leaders will have new ammo to fire at the critics. but i really hope Thailand comes out of this as winners.

It was just waiting to happen, but I had expected the coup to take place earlier.

Kris, i copied first few lines from Jeff's.(I am a lazy bugger) I was commenting on investor's sentiments, especially Temasek of singapore who started the whole ball rolling when they purchased Thaksin's Shin Corp for a few billion ringgit one day after Thaksin forced through a law that dictates that profits from the sale is not liable for taxataion.
As for the rebels in the south, prepare to meet thy creator.
