Meanwhile, in the Parliament, BN backbencher Zaid Ibrahim (BN-Kota Baru) strongly pleaded for a review of the 1988 judicial crisis, telling the government not to be afraid of correcting 'a wrong of the past.

“Tun Salleh Abbas is 77 years old now, the country and all of us have committed a sin towards him,” Zaid said during his debate on the Budget 2007 yesterday afternoon. Read the details in Malaysiakini.

Most people in the know believe a wrong has been committed on Tun Salleh. The reason the BN govt is unwilling to reopen the case is very apparent. It will affect those still in power and the very foundation of BN itself. It's like opening a can of worms and shaking the closet until the skeletons all fall out.
The only way to reopen the case is for a change in govt I can see no other way.
