ASTRO: David Butorac is out afterall
Despite several false alarms earlier, ASTRO Group Chief Operating Officer David Butorac will finally leave the payTV upon expiry of his contract on 31 October 2006
Meanwhile, chartered account Grant Ferguson will be joining the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in October 2006.
Ferguson is currently Managing Director, Investments with Temasek Holdings in Singapore. He takes over the CFO function from Rohana Rozhan who was appointed Chief Executive Officer for the Group’s TV business in May 2006.
Here is ASTRO's internal memo, which was released through Bursa Malaysia, dated September 8.

An all Malaysian run now? All de best cos today just really had a bad day with the customer service. A more than 1 week old problem still can't solve yet.

So anything wrong if it is run by Malaysians? Are you implying locals are less capable than foreigners?
I don't understand why some people still make a distinction on "local vs foreigner". Let's hire the best managers to run the company (if the foreigners can do it better, then so be it), but ultimately we need to make sure that the country to gain from it (ie, retain equity ownership and our young managers can learn from the external hire).
