Adjusted: AirAsia's July On-Time take-off stats
Overnight, reader Jau Kay Kiang alerted me that AirAsia has synchronised its On-Time Performance statistics on the web frontpage.
The July on-time take-off record is now reset to 81%.

The statistics cant be right. I went on 7 flights of Air Asia for the last few months and all were late. 100% record late! The last was on 22 Aug , returning from Bangkok and we were supposed to arrive at 630pm and landed at about 10.30pm!The pilot even has the guts to tell us sorry for the slight delay and asked us to enjoy the flight. By not giving numbered seats, it reminded me of almost 30 years ago when we all fight to go up the bus. AirAsia is putting us 30 years backwards when the customers all fight to get on board after a few hours delay and the announcement was only in Thai and English in Bangkok. Some French tourists couldnt understand and just pushed to get thru on a first come first serve basis. Tony is definitely not that [ DELETED ] at all, putting us backwards in this no seats numbering. If he doesnt admit his mistakes and weakness and rectify it, the only customers left for him is the RM0.99 and RM9.99 ticket holders. I had my last flight on AirAsia that unforgetful Bangkok flight and I found out Thai Airways charges are about the same as what I paid! Goodbye Air Asia, I really had memorable flights, all of them horrible.

It depends on their definition of "late". It seems AA considers flights that are "overdue" by more than 30 mins as late. If they stretch that to one day, then they will have a 100% on-time record.
JEFF OOI says: For the record, the Minister of Transport had quoted 15 minutes as the international benchmark and the threshold to define late take-offs.

Lateness is so common in Airasia that it became a norm......sharing my latest experience when my father & little daughter visiting me in Macau on last week. Their arrival was delay for more than an hour and worst, their departure on 25 Aug was delayed from original ETD1925 to 2135hrs.....what an experience, now everyone REALLY can fly with the lateness, not need to rush to airport as it will definitely will give you an hour or more of time allowance to reach the airport. Mr Tony Fernandes, please check it up in order to maintain Airasia as the major no frill airline in Asia. Viva Air from Macau would launch a flight to KL from Macau very soon.
