Trust not the blogs?
Just as the mainstream media and Putrajaya collude to demonise Internet and blogs, traffic to Screenshots went up prominently in July, hitting the highest peak in the last 3 years and 7 months that this blog existed.
Here are the snapshots of visitor traffic on the frontpage of Screenshots.
July 28, the day Dr Mahathir was attacked with pepper spray in Kota Baru, sent the frontpage traffic to about 36,000 pageviews and about 26,000 unique visitors in one day.

For the monthly visitor traffic to the frontpage, July recorded some 570,000 pageviews and about 400,000 unique visitors, which breaks the previous record high captured in August 2005.

Visitor traffic of the Screenshots archive and microsites have equally increased.
However, I must say the July traffic is abnormal but it goes to say the blog reading public did care on news that jeapardised the wellbeing of our former prime minister.
Thus far, since May 21, 2003 when Screenshots left Blogspot.com to host on its own server, this blog has served up over 8.5 million pageviews and 6.2 million unique visitors on its frontpage alone. (SOURCE: Sitemeter.com)
Luckily, we made the right call to move the server out of Singapore-owned Webvision, which hogged the the TM-owned MyLoca data centre at CBJ1, to another data center within the MSC. Or else visitors' access would have been hampered.
Thank you for the support, let's just soldier on.

Jeff, I think I trust blogs more than those main stream media. Today's Star reported that this is the first time MAS raise its domestic fare in 14 years, frontpage. I don't have a good memory but neither is my memory that bad. If I am not mistaken, MAS domestic fare had been raised by 50-100% in the late 1990s or early 2000. And MAS domestic fare was even compared to those in neighbouring countries, Japan, France etc. (of course saying that their is the lowest lah... what else). Sounds like "monkey see, monkey do" isn't it. I don't say they can't increase but at least give the actual picture. Here, it looks like they are hiding this and that (stoop so low to give out false info just to raise 15-25% fare) and Star just pick up what they said without checking... No wonder SIA is so far ahead.

"Collective Intelligence"? ha!! but please forgive me because it sometimes seems more like "circle jerk" to me.
for the benefit of those who are properly educated in the english language: this's what it means:

This is specially for lsk.
There are a few reasons I can think of why you give this comment.
First, you don't get enough traffic to your site, so out of jealousy, you leave nasty remarks on other people's site.
Second, you are barbarian still living in stone age, without proper education and respect for others. You are entitle to your perverted opinion but please keep it to your perverted self.
And lastly, you are one of the sample in the recent politeness survey that rated KL as the third most impolite city in the world. Upbringing? Maybe.

It should be abundantly clear to all why Asgasapuri and Home Ministry are so concerned about the blogs like yours--the truth is being told and is being spread through the internet. Not only that the matured, nonpartisan, intelligent sincere, reporting and comments and views through reasearched articles and well thought out letter for example in Malaysiakini, about the wrong direction the country has been taken for the last 25 years and remedies necessary is driving the BN crazy and nuts. Why should anyone especially an elected govt be afraid of the truth unless more of the same wayang kulit is in the pipeline? Nobody is buying all that spin of the mainstream media anymore. How will anyone as what they report together with the paper is not worth even "water closet" use.
The truth is getting out through . They do not know how to stop its dessimination. It is frightening for them and they are panicking.Hence the talk about controlling the Internet.

Dear Jeff,
The statistics are proof enough that what you n the rest of the bloggers are doing something right. To be trusted more than the usual media is an achievement by itself but we all still have a long way to go until the govt really acknowledge the Blog as a credible and a force to be reckoned with - an alternative to the mainstream media that I hope, wish n pray will NEVER be silenced. I may be idealistic but here's to another 50+ years of Screenshots!

Jeff... the media is not saying much about the US-Malaysia FTA, are you going to let it off so easily???
