It's good news, not bad news

Attempted mass killing of the innocents has been avoided once again. At least for now until the 5th anniversary of 9/11 next month.

At least the cops there don't care for the political correctness of the politicians and do their jobs as they must!

... and Bush is already screaming 'Islamic fascist"...

My religion is Islam and I'm no fascist .... doesn't change a thing. These 20+ Pakistanis are Islamic Fascist.

Reject the muslim clerics and study the Koran in detail. That is what god has informed in the Koran.Read. The idea of making heroes out of Osama and gang must end.

Its not over yet. UK is still in crtical alert, whatever that means.

5 suspect are still at large. There are fear, they might have 'plan B'. Might be another 7/7?

I wonder about the political correctness in England as an innocent guy was shot dead under the pretext of apprehending a 'terrorist' & the agencies involved have walked scot free - was it collateral damage?

I assume your talking about Jean Charles de Menezes case.
What you said is misleading at best. The agencies didn't walk away scot free. They were charge under Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

They are loads of reason to dislike Blair and Bush administration but spreading misleading facts does not however support your case.

So it's either the agencies walked scot free or the terrorist walked scot free due to delayed action caused by "standard operating procedure" protocol.
One man's life compare to the life of the whole airplane passengers and the life of ppl inside the building the plane is heading.

Well, that's just too hard to compare.

At least Tony Blair sempat to take a moment from his Caribbean holiday to "brief" George Dubya Bush on the matter.

Is the latter the boss of the former?

When did Britian being colonised by US of A?

This plot was to blow airplanes from the UK heading towards the US so its a plot concerning both countries.

So you assume Blair is under US of A because he took his time to brief Bush on what his law enforcement is doing?

Your argument my friend is a bit silly.

Silly me, but I did not see any news report from major newspapers here saying Blair briefing his own UK citizen.

Shouldn't the word "informed" more relevant instead of "briefed".

I agree the matter is a serious matter concerning UK & US...and also possibly other Europe countries (fyi).

Nevertheless, its a triumph of good over evil in halting such a large scale threat.

And here I thought it was a part of diplomacy for the prime minister of the country to brief the prime minister of another country concerning matters that effect both countries. You know, courtesy? I would have imagine that Blair will brief the prime minister of France if the plot involves the country of France. But thats just me.

And why would Blair would want to brief the UK citizens on what UK law enforcement is doing when the relevant agencies like MET is doing it? I thought there is such thing as delegation? Maybe Malaysia should emulate such things more. The ministry doing their job rather then constantly pestering the prime minister to intervene.

Bank of England released the names of the 19 bank A/C's frozen - its available on the net. Amazing how this plot was discovered if one cares to know. Check out Time Magazine online or WSJ today for some intro and you can research into more detail if of interest. Makes a great thriller. Reminds me of a book 'Memorial Day' by Vince Flynn. Delhi is now on alert with latest tips from the USA. I'm chuckling with some of the thoughts expressed in this blog.... from irrelevence to pure idiocy. Probably applicable in the DrM/AB debate which some of us M'sians enjoy so much - personality, gossip, speculations etc. For me, this plot being thwarted is of major importance if one cares to read into the details ... and not forgetting about 3000 lives saved !!

It is not really as what it seems. Those who engineered the phantasm does get it through our veins, doesn't it?

Hi jeff
I am against the killing of innocent people or bombing planes...
But what about the mass killing in Lebanon and Palestine...
How come you don't write about that?
Or is it only wrong when Muslims wanna do it? Wrong is wrong no matter who is committing it...

thanks

JEFF OOI says: I have commented in my earlier blog entries two weeks ago, asking both Israel and Hezbollah to restrain themselves. Go to my search engine (right hand column), type in keywords: "Middle East, or peace..." and you will get it. Are you new to Screenshots?

We all want peace but the question is how do we get there? Will a ceasefire provide peace? UN voted on a resolution and some peace force to be sent(maybe even with M'sian participation?) but do they have the right to maintain peace or merely just monitoring role and do reporting and not combat if required ? What is the background of this Israel/Palestine conflict? Do we go back to study the Roman or Ottoman empire period to understand or even further or just look at the 1948 UN charter as a reference point? Have there been any lasting peace via treaties or was it only after a victorious war that peace can be achieved? WW2 comes to mind. I remember the Cold War and there's many marches on peace etc but it was via a victorious party that the Soviet bear collapse. I dunno if peace could be achieved by resolutions and ceasefire alone .just not smart and informed to have a solution .....
