Intel Core 2 Duo... Hot & Cool

I was there at Menara KL yesterday -- Hot! Intel Core 2 Duo was officially launched one week after US. Cool! Price-points are competitive to if not below AMD's.

The Intel Core Microarchitecture was designed by the team in Haifa, Israel that previously designed the highly successful Pentium M mobile processor.

And most probably fabricated in Israel before sending over to places like Malaysia for assembly and test !

Andrew Grove co-founder of Intel is Jewish.

JEFF OOI says: He should be addressed as Datuk Andy Grove... investiture from Penang.

I wonder how AMD will respond.

I am an AMD user... Laptop with Turion X2. Very cool with 1GB of RAM.

AMD all the way!

|^2SaNe|, it is up to the computer manufacturer to push the product. It will take up to 3 months for any big brand to offer Core 2 Duo computer.

The low power consumption is pretty attractive in powerful notebook.

Do take note that once upon a time, Intel is market the CPU speed strategy to squeeze AMD out of market. The strategy backfire when AMD able to churn out price/performance CPU to the market.

BTW, I think manufacturers will be pretty angry because Core 2 Duo render whole line of Pentium-D server OBSOLETED.

Unless Intel give those manufacturer incentive to adapt Core 2 Duo, they can't stop manufacturer start playing the AMD cards.

Yeah was invited too, but during work hours, very busy at the moment couldn't make it.

Screw AMD.. I've already placed order for my Core 2 Duo E6600. Apparently E6800 Extreme can be clocked up to 5.6GHz..

E6300 can be clocked to 2.8GHz @500Mhz FSB..

BTW, I think manufacturers will be pretty angry because Core 2 Duo render whole line of Pentium-D server OBSOLETED.

Manufacturer knew intel's plan at least 6 months ahead of time. You can check out Intel's road map from their website and it is in public domain.

INTERNET does not operate in a legal vacuum.
