This Tajudin
Is there a no-questions-asked, money-back guarantee in Malaysia's patronage system?
The poker stake has really gone up! Someone has just pulled out the files, and the canary has to sing.

Casualty? Probably the New Economy Policy that created the Tajudin Ramlis of Malaysia. But it serves the political agenda of the day.
Keep it up! Malaysia is getting more and more transparent.

And the selective memory Dr M, and his diam one-time side-kick, look like they have more and more of their dirty laundry being hung out.
Once we were sniggering at katak's, now we see the tweetie birdies coing out. What a zoo!

Folks
More caged birds will be singing songs, gangsta-style, claiming innocence from the corruption of the New Economic Policy.
More transparency means more exposure of the NEP-sponsored fly-by-night UMNO milionnaires who made it without sweating one bit. Compare that to the back-breaking padi farmer trying to help Malaysia to be more self-sufficient in rice.

It is becoming much clearer day by day why TDM wants only his own transparency fr AAB,but disallow the full transparency promised by AAB but yet undelivered.
TDM is one of the major stumbling block to transparency in Malaysia, not that AAB wants it either, but he did promise it to all Malaysians to gain his votes and mandate.

Just finishing 'digesting' the recently published interviews of Petronas CEO at The Edge & The Star.
Many points need deeper analysis & H Merican didnt seem to bent words at some subjects.
Case 1, the contractual non-disclosure agreement that forced those involved with the Bank Bumiputra's first rescue for certain years. (cf The Edge)
Case 2, the glaring 'indirect transfer' of Petronas' money to the IPPs via the controlled natural gas purchase pricing. This amount is close to RM40b per year based on the current natural gas price!
Seem like TDM has a lot more skeletons in the closet & with this latest disclosure of Tajudin how many more will be prised 'opened' with a crossbar?
With all these 'openings' can the joepublics see the days of more transparent & fair govt?
Or it'll just be like the case of TDM disclosed the govt contracts recipients at the high of his UMNO fight with DSAI? Once the fight was concluded semua-ya OK & back to status quote.
Will this be the case - most likely it will as the current in-fightings will drag a lot more umnoputras, past & present, into the muds, along the way more dirts & skeletons will be exposed.

TDM reply: They are all conspiring to demonise me.
In my opinion, I'm not sure this is transparency. It's more of Tajuddin is trying to save his own neck. His last card.
Anyway, we hope to see ACA (if there's a police report or case or AAB directive) to prosecute and the court for justice. It will be a long process if it happens. 1,2,3,5 years???
There's more cases from DSAI side.
By then TDM may have kick... leaving TDZ to fight the case.

A side note - while the term NEP tends to be used liberally, I feel that a distinction should be made between the one originally launched in 1970 under Tun Razak, and the "privatisation" policies of the government in the late-eighties to 1997, whereby several 'star' bumiputera (and some non-bumiputera) entrepreneurs were entrusted with various projects and enterprises to lead forward. The nature of the two policies were, in my opinion, vastly different, both in practice and in their objectives. The earlier one was about poverty eradication and ending the identification of types of work with specific races, while the later one was about creating icons of success. In any case, for all that has been said about 'continuing' the NEP, the original one officially came to an end in 1990, even if its institutions and the government practices arising from it continues to this very day.

1. Maaflah.

Gerbang Perdana RM360M claim
Anwar Ibrahim suing Mahathir
Danaharta suing for RM589M
T Ramli countersuing for RM13.46B
All these are clear indication that a war is going on. This could be even more significant than the TM - AI crisis.

AAB will continue to keep silence while all these TM canaries will start singing away !!!
Sigh ! Semua nya OK Lah its matter of time when the fight is settled horse trading style and its back to the buffet table for all !

What a position to be in to have an Overriding Agreement whilst performing National Service? Can we apply for such a position? The question is all crowds under heaven are black in colour. The last 22 years of administration of this country had been one of black box modus operandi. And you know, when the balck box is found, the plane has already crashed! The expose' of this blackbox reveals the flight path of this hijacking plane with the high prfoile hijackers who claim that whatever is done is done for the interests of the rakyat! By by, we now know why MAS has crashed because under the overriding agreement, the pilot is allowed to plunder as much as possible and have the "spoils" stashed away somewhere. GOM, you sued me, I sue you back with even a bigger sum! In the end, you are left wondering whether in the first place, the so-called leaders who have been showered with accolades are actually worthy of the titles they are carrying now! Afterall, TR is a proxy and that is what he wants us to believe, he did it as part of national service. Can we also apply for it? It is a never ending story........open the closet, you see all the skeletons hanging out to dry.

Agre with Salzburg. This is just the tip of the iceberg and more sordid details will come up in the near future. Let's have more of these skeletons out of the closet shall we?
IMHO what we are seeing right now is a proxy war btwn a NATO PM & a disgruntled "Make-It-Happen!" ex-PM. Granted, Tajudin is trying to save his own neck ny revealing all but I'm sure he must have calculated all the risks by doing so as it would drag many VIPs down with him. I expect after this TDM will come up with his line of defence to counter all the claims made by Tajudin. This is TDM's strategy to remain relevant and exercise his brain cells. He knows that to avoid senility one must use the brain a lot. If this strategy works then I'm afraid we'll be seeing more of TDM till at least the year 2030 when he's 105!

If you are smart, you just use all your resources to change gov of the day. Or you can keep whining and bitcing about all this people.
Tajuddin, Halim Saad, Francis Yeoh, Pek King, Syed Mokhtar etc, etc...all of them is just a tool for BN to expediate their daylight robbery.
Wake up people!!!!

The shit has hit the ceiling fan indeed.
There has been a series of expose against TDM's past 'mistakes'. The IPP contracts with TNB; the acquittal of DSAI from charges of corruption and abuse of power; now the Tajuddin Ramli case.
Has any action being taken by the government to address the obvious? To find out the real cause of these mistakes?

Don't really know if this is the case but my contribution to this topic is to present to everyone one conspiracy theory:-
1. Notice the similarity in the terms used by TR and TM: "The Government did not honour their agreement". This could be crafted by same spin doctor.
2. Notice also that this article did not put TM in a bad light. In fact, it showed that he did something bold and creative in solving a national crisis. Also, there is no relevation that TM profited personally from this deal.
3. The article also portray the current government as not remembering the pledge that the previous government had given to an "innocent" bumiputera business man who was asked to "sacrifice" for the good of the country.
4. The explaination given by the government then of the Bank Negara forex misadventure was that it was a paper loss. And the person who said it was Anwar Ibrahim. So, this revelation implied that he was lying when he made the statement.
With one bombshell, the AAB camp is seen to be reneging on the promise of the previous administration in "helping" a bumiputera entrepreneurer who had stepped up to "do a national service" for the county. Also, this bombshell painted Anwar Ibrahim as not being totally honest in his statement on the forex misadventure.
And the only party who looks good after this relevation is TM:-
- Strong leadership who takes unconventional steps during times of crisis.
- Man of principle who stand by his words- note the term "my word is my bond" is used to describe him.
- Helping to stave off foreigners (or perhaps non-bumis) from taking a controlling interest in MAS by persuading a respected Malay corporate figure to take responsibility in serving his country.
- Uncharacteristic noble in his public fight with AAB now to help "innocent" parties like TR from liabilities because the present government has overturned the Overriding Agreement.
Seeing the above, it is obvious why the Star and the NST did not publish this "news"- this is a news that is "released" by the Mahathir camp.
If the above theory is true, then kudos to TM for a brilliant political maneuver :)

The revelations from the time of Tun Mahathir is a political manouvering by Abdullah camp to discredit Tun Mahathir.
So far, both revelations of Ani Arope and Tajuddin are actually backfiring on Abdullah's camp, since instead of insinuating Tun Mahathir, they opened up cans of worms related to the person holding Ministry of Finance of those days.
Is is widely hypothesised that the mainstream media that can reach the ordinary folks are 'discouraged' from carrying the stories any further, due to the political impact it will bring to the present Government.

All these shenanigans happen because Umno replaced institutional checks-and-balances with its own brand of back-scratching mechanisms.
The common spirit and code of honour once applied by a national coalition has been replaced by a monoracial Umno with a personalized agenda applying carte blanc monopoly over the use of the country's funds.
In no instance has this power not been abused. In no instance have they shown they knew exactly the actual costs of their decisions. In no instance did they not try to kid themselves that their naive use of 'nationalism' as a canopy for everything would actually endanger the nation if things were to go wrong, and things went wrong big time.
From oil money to power contracts, privatisation rates to national-identity policies, wealth redistribution to citizen rights, permits to privileges, billboards to closed car deals, both country and rakyat have been taken for a ride.
The question remains: is Badawi really democratising the reformation of this country's governance so that true changes can be made by everyone in the old national spirit, or will Malaysia continue down the road to become entrenched as a 'mental asylum', so said only half in jest in overseas circles?
And they would have us believe that the reason for the fallout between M2 and Daim was over the latter's insistence of using EPF money to bailout MAS, when as we have seen recently, M2 also thought EPF was a government funding machine.
Let not more exposes make mirthful the malevolence of men...

sonicwall...
two reasons why Najib claims he is in the dark..
One.. he really don't know becos AAB/KJ don't give him/share enough info with him.
Two...better to act "blur blur" and let someone else handle it..which will be AAB.
Najib is not stupid..he will surely not want to jepoardise himself by trying to be a smart alec.
So he maintains an elegant silence and offer no comments.

Sigh. Some of you really worship the ground that Mahathir walks on and in your eyes, he can do no wrong. A few people will get implicated by this but to say Mahathir will get away scott free is misleading to say the least. People will want to know why he allowed Bank Negara to go on a speculation spree, especially since he supposedly so against currency speculation.
And if Tajuddin's allegations are true, then they will want to know why Mahathir told a BALD FACED LIE to Malaysians and and covered up the real reason for Tajuddin taking over Malaysia Airlines.
And the part you wrote about giving the airline to a Malay just so that it does not fall into non-Malay hands - well that will certainly not endear him to the non-Malays. At least the current PM is allowing a non-Malay to run Malaysian Airlines now. But hmmm.. maybe that's why Mahathir and his cronies are upset at Badawi?

Banjaran....me thinks you missed my quotation marks when I refered to "innocent" TJ "helping" out the country... :)
Personally, I think that this "revelation" is aimed at certain UMNOputras, about how their business interests are in jeopardy because AAB is now not honouring TDM's promises.
I also think that TDM is not infalliable and what he, Daim and TJ did is wrong so no ground worshiping from this party over here.
Also, don't forget about the allegations about how MAS once used to serve nasi lemak that costs hundreds of ringgits. Wonder who benefited from supplying gourmet ikan billis?

dear Banjaran....
as it is..Mahahir will get away scot free...you know why...nobody in the govt of AAB dare to stand up to him. If they really have guts...they would have sacked him for being so vocal against his party leader or at least haul him up before the UMNO disciplinary commitee....What Nazri did was not brave....was plain stupid...and just to test waters..Tun has challenged them to sack....no action means no balls.
YES..he willget of scot free because AAB dare not act.
Some smart ass in the govt will come out and to save face...will come out with this.."we will investigate"..and hope everyone forgets...and the matter is closed..
Tun is king...no one dares to touch him. Long Live Tun

HaHaHa dear Tajudin Ramlis has just revealed one of the very big secret of why TDM wanted to kill George Soros, and curse the jews consistently.
TDM and Daim, under their combined charge, caused the Central Bank to lose billions of dollars to the professional foreign exchnage currency speculators, who make speculation their full time career.I do not need to be a rocket scientist to bet who would win,do I?
henceforth, foreign exchange specualtion became the biggest sin on earth,in the mouth of TDM,who went around the whole world, telling how sinful it was,but of course he forgot to mention that he himself as well as the country was a big victim as well.
So much for the global creditbility of Dr.M!
JEFF OOI says: Just to put a perspective to some historical facts. ( 1 ) Top Cat's forex trading debacle that burnt a big hole for Malaysia took place in 1993. ( 2 ) TR took over 32% controlling stake of MAS in 1994. ( 3 ) Anwar Ibrahim was appointed Finance Minister in 1991, DPM in 1993. ( 4 ) Daim was only reappointed as Finance Minister in 1998 after Anwar sacked.

Jeff,many thanks for your clarification.
It seems to be that the fact made it much worst for TDM and Daim, that is.
So Anwar was the finance minister when the 20-30 billions RM was lost on evil deed of currency speculation,do why did TDM and Daim not pointing their fingers at their nemesis Anwar whom they definitly would like to see destroyed completely, there is a big question mark.
Assuming that there have been some truth in the allegation that Daim and TDM were the masters who engineered the buying of MAS which is to be proven in the court of law now, then the bigger question is what was therule of Daim who was not even the finance minister then, unless we assume that he is a beneign guy out to save the country which few would really believe given his tremendous track record.
Well, questions and answers please,we need them, and that include TDM,Daim,AAB and Mr Anwar.but they are seem not to be keen on talking.
