we shall take time off to go to the movies.

But meanwhile, brood on the following article during the time off on why everybody is taking time off when the potato is still hot in the kitcken...

Previous Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and current Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi have just completed Round One and both have gone to their corners to wait for the bell signalling Round Two of the ten-round bout. Of course, their ‘corners’ are very far from each other. Mahathir’s ‘corner’ is Europe while Abdullah’s is Australia. Hmm.....I must get in touch with Lilian Too and find out what this means -- Fung Shui wise that is. I mean, if Mahathir is ‘on top of the world’ and Abdullah is ‘down under’, is this a reflection of their fortunes?

Anyway, contrary to what the newspapers may be saying, they are both not really on holiday. Abdullah had gone to Australia because of a serious bronchitis ailment and to lick his wounds while Mahathir has gone to celebrate winning Round One plus plan Round Two of the bout. Of course, the newspapers said that Abdullah is in Australia to cure his sinus problem. You may ask: why Australia just to cure your sinus? You can buy all sorts of sinus cures outside the Kampong Baru mosque after Friday prayers. What, you think sinus is not life-threatening? Prominent people have been known to die from a sinus operation in leading private hospitals in Kuala Lumpur. So a sinus operation is no small matter. Anyway, Abdullah went there not for a sinus operation but for something more serious.

And what is Mahathir’s excuse for going on ‘holiday’? Well, remember when Mahathir went on two months leave back in the days when Anwar Ibrahim was still his number two? Because of the long ‘leave’, he had to appoint Anwar the Acting Prime Minister. Many thought this was a signal that Mahathir was about to retire whereby he would then hand the reins to Anwar and that these two months was a sort of orientation before Anwar takes over fully.
