PAC to probe ECM-Libra/Avenue Capital deal
Sharir Abdul Samad cannot pretend that he heard nothing at the July 18 briefing session for Umno FT held at the Nikko Hotel recently.
That was the session during which Umno grassroots brought up the issue of the 'merger' between ECM Libra, linked to Kalimullah Masheerul Hassan as the chairman and joint CEO, and Avenue Capital, a GLC owned by the rakyat through the Treasury.
So yesterday, Sharir has to pull out one the many hats he is wearing, this time as the chairman of the Parliamentary Public Audit Committee (PAC) , to put ECM-Libra on the spot. He wants to know how the deal, of a smaller entity swallowing a bigger one, went through.

Tahniah, PAC!

it si good that PAC took the initiative but whether the findings will be kept a secret is yet to be known. perhaps all just sandiwara. afterall KJ is SIL of AAB. If other big fish has yet to be fried u expect the SIL to go down first?

Its good to see tyat PAC is pro-active in this case. As long as it does not have any personal political agenda....
However, the way I see it, PAC will call the relevant parties to their hearings but in the end...as usual the findings will be kept under lock and key...
Pls PAC, do what is right all the way...no more half bridges...
Till then...G'nite M'sia, wherever u are...

Wayang kulit lah, Jeff. Remember Pak Lah already said he had no prior knowledge of the deal, and this comes from the Finance Minister of the country. Sad isn't it ?
