The creature that Pak Lah spotted... accidentally

UPDATED VERSION. Has Sufi Yusoff been vindicated?

In his Sunday Column dated June 11, 2006, Kalimullah Masheerul Hassan, now a Haji, wrote about the circumstances leading to the rendezvous between Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Japan recently. (See PDF here.)

In the story, the NST deputy chairman cum editorial advisor had implied that it was Mahathir who asked to see Abdullah, and the latter, a hadhari person, was humble enough to go see the former PM himself, instead of the other way round. See screenshot below:

However, July 19, when Abdullah recounted on the same Japan rendezvous, as reported by national news agency Bernama, the PM said he was actually the one who had made the effort to meet Dr Mahathir in the latter's room after knowing that Dr Mahathir also stayed at the same hotel.

Abdullah said he contacted an officer of Dr Mahathir to enquire whether the former prime minister had the time for them to meet. See screenshot below:

Which is which now, Tuan Haji? Did you spin or did you blink?

The No.1 Squealer in Malaysia. No need to say more.

But how long can Boxer last?

howsy,
The 'Boxer' must be trying to mend fences to save his butt. That is the only way he can buy time till his son-in-law can get a stronghold in Malaysian politics. But then again, TDM may have other preferential candidates for the job. 'Grinning Beauty' Pak Lah - is it curtains down for your act?

Folks

Kalimullah Hassan, an alleged journalist, is a disgrace to the profession of journalism.

His editorials and commentaries in NST on local politics such as the current leadership issues are amounting to lies.

On this issue of the meeting between Dr M and Pak Lah, he should be publicly outed as someone with a monopoly of media space aimed at creating misinformation to mislead readers of NST on the politics of the country, aggravating the divisiveness of Malaysian society

That's why I dont read NST anymore since long time ago. As a matter of facts I don;t read any news (especially national news) by local media, Malaysiakini is the source of news these days.

Does it really matter who made the overture?

JEFF OOI says: You've lost the plot. The context here is HOW journalists report history in the making, and newspaper is well regarded as the first draft of history.

No wonder Tun does not like KH..

Alamak Jeff... you kena infected by the 'Jantan' disease ke?

While Nazri has already shown that his disease is likely to be in the Stage 3 (almost terminal) stage, there may yet be hope for you if you take steps to purge your system thoroughly.

Don't lah use 'creature' even if you do not have high regard for some other human being, especially one who had once held high office in the nation. I personally do not think highly (at all!) of the person, but may I suggest using 'person', 'entity', 'individual', 'human' or some word like that?

Would not want you to succumb to the 'jantan' disease.

JEFF OOI says: I don't really understand what you are trying to say. My emotion for for Malaysia and its current Prime Minister. The country and the country's No. 1 both deserve better accordance of dignity. Frankly, I had thought of LOTR's Gollum, but that would bring insult to JRR Tolkien.

Kalimullah..Liar Liar Pants on Fire!...How does it feel like ya,....being caught with your pants down! Stupid? Idiotic? Malu lah..Lagi pun ada aaruah ka?

Hey, Kalimullah....how does it feel like to be betrayed by the man you have been holding on your shoulders for so long despite the heavy load thta he was adding each day?

Reporting history as it happens does not mean writing in this style:

"Abdullah, in the midst of breakfast with aides and officials, immediately put on his tie ..." This style is used in school essays and romantic novels.

My family knows someone who has (or, used to have) a high opinion of KMH because his family has business connections with the Datuk. Lately, this person is rather quiet and KMH has become a taboo subject.

KMH wrote an article in NST on how he helped to pay the medical expenses for his brother who is financially challenged. This person said something like this: "If I were the brother, I would protest against the article."

I guess he is thinking, "I hope Datuk Kalimullah will not write about how he has helped my family."

The moral of the story is: We pay for the consequences of what we write.

Universities had their ratings.
Football had their ratings.

We are now waiting for media ratings then there will be hoohahs!

I can't help but to agree the Kallimullah Hassan is indeed the master of spin doctor. He just had to win even by fabricating some story of who actually make a move to see who first.

Hey KasiMurah,
This time you should also use the same tools applied onto JO on Oct 1,2004.

Should warn AAB not to say too much or otherwise will use ISA to keep him shut lah. The Oh Noh is still your good friend, right ?!
