Peace... illusive and elusive
Peace becomes illusive when stopping war becomes a soliloquy; and it's elusive when those willing to make peace are ridiculed and vilified -- despite the falling nuclear rain outside.

Such was the feeling enveloping LensaPress photographer Steven Sum when he took the picture at the Perdana Peace Forum yesterday.
We know our man comes this way but once in his life-time, and his time is running out.

Only those who understand it, however small the tribe may be, will cherish.

Just like President Bush has been trying to demonize the Muslims worldwide, Mahathir has been demonizing the Non-Muslims in Malaysia.
The world would be a more peaceful place if all the religions came closer.
Malaysia would be a more harmonious country if all the races were brought closer together.
Mahathir for 22 years has divided Malaysia and allowed the rights of Non-Muslims erode that it seems that we are on our way towards racial disharmony.
There is NO POINT preaching to the world about world peace when he could not even achieve it in his own country after 22 years.

I sokong orangminyak. Thats what I said earlier but Jeff disagree perhaps blowing with the wind.
The Public Forum on Article 11 was also organised by a group of 13 NGOs including sisters in Isalm but was stopped. Why then was the Peace forum allowed? Why the discrimination? Stop preaching and start "Criminalising discrimintion and stop racism in Malaysia' first.
JEFF OOI says: Why is your bosom so narrow with personified hatred? Why do you let Mahathir the mortal come in your way in that peace is not worth pursuing just because Mahathir beats your into it? Why can't a hundred flowers bloom if it's in the name of upholding human rights, reducing conflicts and averting world war? Why can't you take refuge in Omar Khayyam's 1,000-year wisdom, and he asked: "If you punish me for my evils, what difference does it make you?" The answer, my friend, is still blowing in the wind.

What is wrong with you Jeff? Why do you always respond to comments in such a way where you try to belittle your readers? I know it's your blog and everything, but you really sound very stuck up.
JEFF OOI says: So, what's wrong with you that you said is wrong with me? You mean you can speak up and I can't?
I enjoy reading your posts most of the time, but it hits me everytime I see you responding in such a combative manner.
JEFF OOI says: Combative? You used wrong a lousy dictionary lah. PROVOCATIVE should be a better word.
I'm sure many of your readers feel so as well. I'm just wondering if others have relayed this to you before.
JEFF OOI says: Perhaps you are more right and others are more wrong since you insist on using your moral yardstick. But which grandfather of yours gave you the super right? Tacke the issue. Not the person, my friend.

Hi Jeff
I was involved in an educational programme for youths. Some of the participants were from private Chinese schools. One day, I had a casual talk with them. I asked them for their honest views on other races and other religions. I had such a shock!
My family, old or young regardless, are not trained to have such biased thoughts. If we want to make a difference in the world, we start at home. If we fail to make a difference at home, we blame ourselves. We do not blame others.
Personally, I wish to thank my mother for teaching me how to live my life with a useful purpose. She used a simple story:
Two salesmen of a shoe company are sent to an island. On arrival, they discover that the islanders walk about bare-footed.
The 1st salesman calls the boss, “We cannot sell any shoes here. The people here do not need shoes. Please send me to another place where I can be useful to the company.”
The 2nd salesman calls the boss, “We can sell a lot of shoes here. The people here do not have shoes. This is the place I can be most useful to the company.”
Jeff, the people in my family (apart from the immigrants) are educated locally and work locally. We do not have to achieve 16As or recognized as geniuses. But, we use whatever grey matter we have to make ourselves useful.

Its understandable and only human to waver and blowing with the wind when you are under constant threats. Unlike LKS and his son who were jailed for their integrity. jeff is consumed with envy and believes that the whole world owes him a living. He suffers from inferior complex so much so he takes out on Kali at onetime and now all his readers.
JEFF OOI says: No. Malay journaists, Chinese lawyers, Indian editors have taken on the spin-doctor you mentioned. I wasn't the only one -- I had to take my queue card! If you can't spin-doctor, don't act like one.
He has deviated from his original aim and now has nothing intellectual and topical to blog except garbage and crap comments taken out on his readers. This blog has denegerated into unintellectual garbage unlike LKS. I will stay away from this stinking and smelly blog from now on. You should seek Christ forgiveness for all your sins. Bye.
JEFF OOI says: Short on rational arguments and you get personal and spit venom? Haven't we seen it once too many... especially when one tirades behind anonymity? Sorry I don't run an Internat Relay Chat over here. Even if Mahathir is 90% bad man in your eyes, there's 10% good left in him that your and your kind have benefitted. So I say your bosom is narrow with personified hatred. That's not level-headed. No, I won;t miss you.

The approach to “criminalize war” is not the right way to have Peace. The REALITY we have in this world is a REPLICA of our thoughts. If you do not like the world, you must change YOUR thoughts. No exterior manipulation will change the face of your experience one iota if you do not change your dreams and your thoughts. When you grow full and light with thoughts of PEAC, then there will be an end to war. If you want PEACE prepare for PEACE and NOT War.
