Beer ad, Abdullah & NST
The NST carried a beer ad opposite a lead story on PM/ Internal Security Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who mooted the concept of Islam Hadhari.

AgendaDaily turns it into a lead story, and senior Umno echelon is jolted by it -- read it from a commenter in Rocky Bru's blog: SSDD. Malaysiakini (Malay Edition) has a related story.
(In case you don't already know, SSDD stands for 'Same Shit, Different Day', which Rocky remembers as a phrase from a Stephen King novel.)
Comments
AgendaDaily turns it into a lead story: this is the height of stupidity. Of all the other important issues that needs to be addressed, they come up with such drivel.....pathetic....

It only goes to show how open minded we Malaysians are, however the story maybe twisted to attract cheap publicity. I'm sure the PM would not mind raising a toast to the health of our Nation - Cheers!

Hey bros, give AgendaDaily a break man. They are just giving us feedback. It does not hurt to get feedback. More and more people have stopped reading the NST, so this kind of feedback is useful. In my case, for example, I was drawn to the headline for the PM's piece. "Procurement" is too long a word to squeeze into a headline.

I believe such trumping up on such an issue on beer advert shown next to the something relating to religion is very rather petty and ridiculous. The country has bigger issues to tackle and overcome.
Besides, having a beer advert is not being less respectful next to the PM's statement/news, it's about being tolerent too for others as companies need to do business and stirring up such issues is immature and waste of time.

zeeps: All this is about advertiser IQ and EQ. NST should go back to school and relearn advertising 101.
Here is some obvious example advertiser will avoid for all cost
- a sliming ads next to a weight gain products.
- A cigarettes sponsored events banner next to "TAK NAK" campaign.
- McD ads next to healthy food articles.
