Webaroo... the web on a hard drive
Technology start-up Webaroo is trying to say that it is now possible to squeeze the entire internet on to just one PC and have all digital information searchable offline.
By claiming that Webaroo, a free service, allows users to download all the useful information on the web on to the "tiny memory card" found in a laptop, handheld computer or even smartphone, it is as if saying that the Internet is as big as a hard drive.
Or call that Internet unplugged.

What is this "entire internet" compared to the Akashic Records?

We recommend you have at least 1 GB of available disk space to download your favorite web content in Webaroo.

No sirreee Tan Sir Lord Toddie, it's not a belated April Fool's joke. And it doesn't download all links to a small pc. I've installed it in my PC. It has webpacks like World News, World Cup Soccer 2006 and other countries information from 64MBs to 256MBs. Once you download them, they are on your laptop/PC and you can view them at your leisure. If there are changes, your laptop/PC can synchronize with them and update accordingly.
You can also add websites for viewing later. But from what I see, you can only up to a single link depth. Don't think that will take up much place in ones laptop

By the way, a disclaimer...
I did download Webaroo but I haven't downloaded any webpacks or webpages yet....not with the internet connection I am having :) So, I can't verify about the trojan part at all. But these guys who developed Webaroo seem to have some impressive credentials...or so is mentioned in their website. I really wouldn't worry too much trojans...

For clarification,
Webaroo total content would be at around 40GB and will remove redundent entries from its link.
It will also auto-update itself when connected to the net so that the info you get will be somewhat up to date.
Its a novelty idea, where information is literally at the tip of your fingertips, no more bounded by Internet.
However, at 40GB, it still somewhat LARGE
