Mat Jeff

Aisehman gave me an idea.

I will speak in Bahasa Malaysia when I appear as a panel speaker at the Kongress Ekonomi Nasional 2006 (KEN06) this morning.

The working paper, Industri Kecil dan Sederhana: Satu tumpuan Dalam Dasar Perindustrian Negara (Small and Medium Scale Industries: A Focus in the National Industrialisation Policy), will be delivered by YBhg Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin, President of Persatuan Pengilang Bumiputera Malaysia.

My panelist co-speakers are Khalid Samad and Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff but I was told the latter has to fly to Brunei and couldn't make it the last minute.

UPDATES: The podcast version (MP3) for my portion is available here.

All the best, abang Jeff :)!!

When I was in Mexico, the American are being laugh at as Grin-lingual (gringo), because they only speaks English. But to many Mexican who are able to communicate in 2 languages is so called Bilingual; which they are very proud of it.

But not many person can master 3 languages, a Trilingual; yet Jeff did it!

Cheers ! Mat Jeff

way to go :)

no matter what, Bahasa Melayu is our national language.

we should respect it in that BM themed conference.

a good reminder for all of us.

I always like BM in school and proud to be a Malaysian, juz dun agree with the politics or politician.

Wah, Abang Jeff semua boleh- Omputeh boleh, Mandarin boleh, Bee Emm pun boleh! Cayalah! Macam dengar perbahasan kat Parlimen je...kalolah MP dapat berbahas macam tu, kan bagus!

Btw, are you involved in this ombudsman system, Jeff?

JEFF OOI says: So far NO. Is the criteria published transparently?

Dompok and gang had a 'lawatan sambil belajar' in January and it took them 3 months to come out with this idea officially. But with Nazri 'Chameleon' Aziz announcing it, anything could be changed within a short time.

Just as expected. Najib 'Change your lifestyle' Razak announced that no decision has been made on the ombudsman system yet.

me thought raja nong chik long dead!!!

Mr Jeff,

Can we do something about this!!

Where is the freedom of religon - why is UUM authorities denying the rights of the citizens as enshrined in our Federal Constitution.

Kind Regards
Karanr

Enclosed herewith is a letter from the student in UUM.

Subject: Banning 4 Indian's in UUM.....!!!
there u go - time to leave M'sia!!

HI there all...

Here I'm going to deliver to you all the important matter that must be read by all the Indians in Malaysia. After reading this news I hope you all can spend some time to read this message. This incident is recently happen in UUM ( University Utara Malaysia ) located in Kedah.
As our Indian culture we practice prayers to the lord where ever we are staying in this world.Of cos we will hang in the wall of our room the Lord picture (eg: vinayagar, saraswathy or etc ).This practice has been banned in the UUM campus hostel. As we know our religion encourage us to pray to the GOD where ever we are. It's up to the individuals the way that they are going to practice the prayers. But how can the the UUM authorities banned this practice. For malay if they want to pray it's not a big issue for them because the government have given them each 100meter a mosque cost of hundred of thousands. So how bout the Indians, they have to pray in the room or they have to travel far to go the temple. For malay they also praying in the room as you all can see in the top of the ceiling there will be a sign written ARAH KIBLAT.Ok this is the first issue.
The next issue is they also can't put Vibuthi and Kumkum in their forehead.Hey come on lah this is to much for the authorities to banned this practice. As we know it's common for all the Indians to practice this matter.I don't think even in the strong Islamic country also taken action to the Indians there like this.I don't know what going to happen after this. The authorities they didn't stop at there, somemore they punished a girl that wearing a string ( Mudikaiyru ) in the hand, you know how much they punished the girl...????She paid RM250 !!!!!for wearing it.Do you all get angry after hearing this message. This string is normal for the Indians because they believe that by wearing the string it can protect us from evil or bad things. As Indians we all know that.
Hey common Indians out there .....wake up!!! What we are going to do for this matter. As a Indian I have taken my ample of time to type this matter in a single sheet as my English is not so good.I hope all of the readers out there can forward this message to all Indians in Malaysia even to our Indian leaders also. This matter had happen recently and as my information this banning matter never happen in any other government university and college also even in UUM also before this.We can't let this matter as a small issue,we know this is a Islamic country and not a democratic country.( Democratic in mouth only when polls going on ).I really thanks for you all to spend time time to read this message. This is true and you can always verified with any of the students there now. Thanks again.
