The 'Great Firewall of China'
This Flickr photo, taken by Erning, the guy who took his little daughter to Chinese Blogger Conference last September, was shared with the FEA2006 Conference when we got into the session on the Great Firewall of China this morning.
The 'tidak apa' (apathy) attitude among mainland Chinese Internet users on Internet censorship in China is appalling. Most live thorough it without even knowing it.
Note: GFW refers to Great Firewall.
Website residing in China, chinadigitaltimes.net (128.32.58.71), is blocked from within China.

Did you see the thing on PBS news about the famous picture of the man blocking the tanks in Tianemen Square?
When shown to two of the top students from the top universities in China, the students didn't know what the picture was about, or where it was taken.

There is a certain dumbing down of Chinese who even worked overseas and exposed to outside world. I have a China-born friend, late 30s, exposed to the outside world by studies and work, yet she is imbued with sino govt propaganda.
For example she will spout the propaganda that it is justified for China to evade Tibet because the Dalai Lama "treat his people like slave and abuses them"; or the time she acted like the Chinese gal in "Mind your language" and condemned our American classmates when a China plane collided with a US alleged spy plane (or was it the other way round?) - screaming exactly the same lines as her government. No critical thinking at all.

Geovanni, you are right, for some reason, they block blogspot access withint China.
They even block my company's brand's website in China (hosted in U.S.), making our life difficult in collecting customer's database through loyalty club.
