How to 'control' bloggers
A Little Bird that often flows over Putrajaya says Pak Lah's minister in charge of innovation recently asked the Press a question: "How could bloggers be controlled?"
The Press suggested he start a government blog. Or just sue, if bloggers are talking non-sense.
I suggest the minister should consult Jay Rosen & Co. on what and why bloggers tick. Some government leaders, not all, must learn fast that good bloggers offers GOOD feedback on governance for free. Ill-intentioned bloggers just fade away because readers, whose eyes are sharp, will lose interest in them and desert them.
Talk of 'marketing forces' theory.

When will these yahoos ever learn that the solution to free speech is not censorship but even more free speech?
Disagree with somebody? Speak up and say why.

First, out of touch with the world.
Then, with the rakyat.
Next, with industry captains.
Now, with blogspheres.
Finally, one hopes - with themselves.
For that is the only way they can salvage their situation of showing how disconnected they have all become.
These ministers of okland.
"Controlled"? is there something to hide?
Ministers we have should move from "we know best" to "here are the facts".
However unplatable they be (the facts, not the ministers), the rakyat must know. Because they didn't under previous administrations, we've all such a large legacy of problems. Some have concluded that we've actually missed the last boat.
It's still not too late to change.
But as Dr Octopus would have said, "with power comes irresponsibility".

horray, big and small brothers wathcing us!!! what the heck Costa Rica, their peaceful citizens have no interest in our politics or murky smelly water. Must be some kind of army intelligence over there!! I dont know anything about computer except the very most common applications, but when you think of electronics trail, i am sure these intel guys will and haved cross referenced all your IP addresses with all your emails and its contents, dig into every post you make, see what article your read at aljazeera.com, your most common search especially if it contain "al-qaeda", or even better if you used the word "uranium" hehehehe, check every one of your SMS you send and receive, cross reference your passport and places you visit and where you spend your credit cards!!! Hey its not bad, it makes me feel important!

I believe the question is an expression of hopelessness, an admission that the rakyat will no more be easily duped, that the government and its machinery will be under constant scrutiny.
All we can hope is that this present government cares of what we say, failing which I can only hope that come election day we voters make them pay.

In order to ensure the media only show government's words, we must control all medias. We have done well in the newspaper and TV. Now new threat are Blog and SMS. We must control them as well. To control SMS, limit the Telco license to operate so that we can close them down anytime, any minute. To control Blog, we must intercept the ISP (they are Telco too). Once we controlled them, we would effectively stopped anti-government message from spreading out. The opposition will never win us. We need to do this by year 2008 election. Malaysian in general are forgetful. Human brain in general are lazy to recall bad experience. Just make citizen happy during 2007 and 2008 and fullfill their requests, we will secure 2008 election again. This is the formula of success.

Gash, what happened when SMS down and Internet is out? Thai can shutdown telco at Southtern part in the name of terrorism. Why not Malaysia? Just think of creative excuse. When the truth is blocked and citizen is forced to read newspaper and TV, BN will win again. They don't need to secure majority. This is Malaysia's style of "democrazy": win the power by abusing democracy system. My hopes for a good government and lovely country is fading away.
Can anyone recall what happened in 2001 and 2002 in Malaysia? That's almost the same trend in 2005 and 2006 where citizens are deprived of our rights.

the darkest day for uncensored internet -
uncensored BUT being watched AND will get filtered/caught
IF you talk nonsense.
Oh by the way, how to define non-sense?
Example: Stephan Chow's movie are non-sense to many people. But there are people who do think that, there is meaning in his non-sense.
d'you know what I mean?

IMHO,
Non-sense or not, it is very subjective.
To those minister, critism for all the "good" shows performed by them all this while is non-sense.
The 'seruan' of changing your lifestyle (if you'd been eating steak, go eat nasi lemak. If you'd been eating nasi lemak, go drink water. If you'd been drinking water, then go eat [DELETED]) to comply with the hike up of the petrol price makes perect sense to them. Brain size is not that standard rreally.
Great fans of Stephen Chow from day one. Sense hidden within the non-sense. It depends how you see thing.

Hire(too bad, there is no self-initiative free services) some pro-gahmen "expert" to flood blogger comments, trackback. Better still, DDOS them.
ROFL.
