Help me count
I have lost track of the spate of Cabinet committees formed since April 2004. Can you help me out on this?
- March 8, 2006: Cabinet Committee on drinking water
- March 1, 2006: Cabinet Committee to upgrade public transport system
- February 17, 2006: Cabinet Committee for Sports
- January, 2005: Cabinet Committee on Gender Equality
- Cabinet Committee on Competitiveness
- Cabinet Committee on Road Safety
- Cabinet Committee concerning National Service
I'm afraid, soon, we will run out of Cabinet ministers to sit in the Cabinet committees. Should we add one Monitoring & Coordinating Minister (MCM) to monitor and coordinate all the Cabinet Committee meetings? So that we won't fall short on the delivery system?
Comments
In Communism, poverty will be equally distributed amongst the peasants. In our Cabinet committees, blame will be equally distributed amongst the firsts in wealth off powerful so no one is to be blamed personally. To blame the opposition and external forces like Zionism is fair and equitable.

Googled this from somewhere:-
"A camel is a horse designed by committee."
Sir Alec Issigonis
For me, "A camel is a horse designed by committee full of useless Malaysian politicians." These politicians are not there to make good decisions or solutions and take full responsibility in the event of any major cock ups. They are there to pass the bucks or blames to others when going get tough. They are the useless untouchable politicians, only available in Malaysia.
**Alec Issigonis was born in Smyrne, Turkey, in the year 1906. In 1922, he and his family were exiled to Malta by the British Navy. At the young age of 15 he arrived in London. He began studing engineering and got a job working for Morris Motor Company. There he designed the Morris Minor. The small car was not well received, but when the Suez crisis brought about rationing, the BMC asked him to design an efficient small car.The new design was the ever lovable Mini. The Mini soon became the best selling car in Europe. To honor his success, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1969. Issigonis worked as the engineer director at Austin Rover until 1971 when he retired. Suffering from Parkinson's disease, he was then only able to stay on as a consultant until 1987. Sir Issacc Issigonis passed away on October the second, 1988. The Mini defines his design philosophy, Less is More.

Cruickshank's Law of Committees
If a committee is allowed to discuss a bad idea long enough, it will inevitably decide to implement the idea simply because so much work has already been done on it.
Ewing's Universal Law of Committees
The likelihood of solving any problem is inversely proportional to the number of committees working on it.
ancillary:
The amount of time spent by a committee on an agenda item is inversely proportional to the cost of the item.
The Iron Law of Committees
As the moment of collective exhaustion approaches, “Everything has been said, but not everyone has said it!”
The Law of Committees
"If you leave the room, you're elected."
Martin's Law of Committees
All committee reports conclude that "it is not prudent to change the policy (or procedure, or organization, or whatever) at this time."
Martin's Exclusion
Committee reports dealing with wages, salaries, fringe benefits, facilities, computers, employee parking, libraries, coffee breaks, secretarial support, etc., always call for dramatic expenditure increases.
Mitchell's Law of Committees
A simple problem can be made insoluble if enough meetings are held to discuss it.
Neil's Law of Committees
The greatest achievement of the Malaysian civil service is to deflect the wrath of the citizens of Malaysia through the expedient of forming committees whose recommendations will differ not one iota from what common sense if used civilly would have extracted in lesser time with greater despatch and lesser fuss. And one of the recommendations regardless of what the committee is empowered to cover shall be to discharge the authorities concerned from all blame, claims and recriminations.
The End.

Jeff,
After that, should we add one Monitoring & Coordinating Minister (MCM-2) to monitor and coordinate the Monitoring & Coordinating Minister (MCM) that monitor and coordinate all the Cabinet Committee meetings?

Jeff,
You want us to help count?
Maybe we should ask for another cabinet committee to determine exactly how many are there.

That is the reason why Pak Lh has such a XXL cabinet. anyway alll the cabinet committee just means that the civil servants are not doing the job they are suppose to do.Then cabinet steps in.

at the rate we are going..maybe it is good to have a cabinet committee (A) to determine if we should have anymore new commitees. And before we set up this committee(A) , we should set up a commitee (B) to determine whether this committee (A) can be set up/should be set up. THen we should set up another commitee (C)to determine whether (A) should be allowed to be set up, as putting wrong people in a commitee can also create problems. (A)must then determine whether (C) should be set up....becos it is their job....
Bottom line,,the fricking G men are so busy sitting on commitees, that they have no time to do their work.
