Eyecare scare: Focus shifted to unlicensed practitioners
Finally, eyecare practitioners realised they have a grouping called The Association of Malaysian Optometrists after all. Homepage at www.amoptom.org and email at amonews@yahoo.com.
Yahoomail? A mobile phone number (012-3979498) for public enquiry? That speaks a lot...
Its President Dr Chung Kah Meng He said recent reports of fungal corneal infection among contact lens users have caused a lot of confusion and uncertainties among the users.
He has asked the Health Ministry to take stern action against any contact lens manufacturer or distributor who sells contact lenses to unlicensed practitioners.
Comments
But the webpage of www.amoptom.org mentioned "Through this site, we share our expertise on eye related problems". No articles or advices given on the ReNU issue.
In the happening of this whole damn issue. where is this president .
All the so called doctors out there , please look at www.cdc.gov and see how they reach the public

Do we need to re-pressure and push Dr Chua and MOH Malaysia for concrete action again.
In this issue, we indeed have no reason to ask B&L Malaysia to withdraw their ReNu. However, in Singapore and HongKong , ReNU is voluntarily withdrawn. I suspect that MOH of HK and Singapore is more "boleh" than its counterpart in Malaysia.
I think Malaysia is still "boleh", however this statement is just like a post-dated cheque, it needs Dr Chua to prove it.
Let starts the discussion , may we invite the President Dr Chung Kah Meng He (The Association of Malaysian Optometrists ) and Dr Chua of MOH
