Bloggers are 'a brand new type of patriots'
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, from Putrajaya to Jalan Riong:
From Pak Indrus, a retired senior government servant:
From the little that I know of the writers of these blogs, are Young Malaysians with grade education, intelligent, well articulate and care much about this beloved country Malaysia...In a way they are a sort of patriots... [...]
The Ministry of Information Malaysia who now have a new Leadership in the form of a veteran journalist with vast experiences in politic, surely would want to know and get feedback from the ordinary Malaysian as to what are the thinking of the Malaysian at large and what better ways are there then these blogs, written by Malaysian with Malaysian centric in their approach...These bloggers are sons and daughters of this beloved country... We call Malaysia... Nation building have never been easy, surely inputs from these bloggers would do more good than harm..

Jeff,
Is very strange !
Where are your patriotic commentators has all gone.
Seems this "a brand new type of patriots" are not available among the commentators you have.
I support you on your constructive critics on government adminstration issue. Just like the light house, to ensure the Malaysian Vessels are safely cruise through. Let the pirates alone, as they are more preferred to see the boat being sunken.
Cheers! Keep up this patriotic work.

pak idrus: welcome salute to thee, fellow Malaysian and writer and blogger.
yes, we are just citizens who love the country as NegaraKu, as wehre else do we have to bury our bodies when we say Goodbye to Hello?
Thanks for your re-affirming message. But this Blogger fears a more "oppresive" climate is in the offing -- flagged off by the hasty suspension of Sarawak Tribune, evening edition of Guang Ming Daily, and earlier "sackings" of two China Press editors --warnings are on the horizon about "controlling" the Bloggers. Hey, we are just citizens exercising utilising the Internet as a MEDIUM to communicate with fellow Malaysians.
We are in an era of Globalised Village, when information and knowldege drive the natioons' progress and development. I hope our leaders, esp MoI, have the wisdom of keeping up with fast changing times lest we be left behind in the last millennium 1...that ended just six years ago. Keeep onblogging, matey!:)
