Understanding Islam and bridging Ummah

I was informed by Aqil Fithri, editor of Ummahonline.com, that the website has been revamped and relocated from Geocities to a permanent site in conjunction with the dawning of 01 Muharram 1427 Hijrah.

Meanwhile, reader Ahmad Riyadh informed me that a new blog, Jelas.org, was launched on February 5, running on MovableType 3.2.

'Jelas' is a verb in Malay, meaning 'to explain', 'to clarify' or 'understand'. "We will try to 'jelas' to you what is Islam and unleash misconception," the blog's banner says.

I sincerely hope their meaning of "jelas" shall be in the context of logical and justifiable sense. IMHO, the world now needs "wisdom" which derives from analysing any given phenomenon/subject with calm logical mind and understanding its nature.

"unleash misconception"? Ouch! One would think that, at the bare minimum, putting misconception on a leash would be better, rather than let it loose.

A better tagline would be something much more simple like:

"stopping misconception"

or

"destroying misconception" if you want to be more agressive.

Maybe:

"reducing misconception" for a more soft approach.

We don't need teaching of Science and Maths in English. We need more teaching of English.

Haha let's unleash misconception on the world! Misconceptions should be "aired", "clarified", "discussed". :)

INTERNET does not operate in a legal vacuum.
